(Samsung are liable to return the SAME phone in the same condition it received it )
 Is that under SOGA ??
If its a Samsung warranty repair then its subject to their terms and conditions .0

As manufacturers often don't even return the same phone (but replace it) when it goes in for a warranty repair take what he says with a truckload of salt, he does like to make stuff up as he goes along sometimes.
If the phone wasn't unlocked officially a reflash could have locked it again, as an example I remember there was a temp unlock for some Samsung phones that relied on an app and I think also being rooted. If Samsung flashed the phone back to standard the app and root would be gone and it would be back to the official lock status.====0

You MAY be able to downgrade the firmware to an older version (4.2.2), unlock using the service menu option and then upgrade the firmware to its newest version (4.4.2) and it would remain unlocked.
Doesn't work in all software versions though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Took it to local shop - 30 mins and £20 later, all unlocked and as good as new!
Was happy that Samsung, by quoting my imei code, knew that the phone was just within 24 month warranty and did fix the original issue but, when I had a conversation with their tech team when I realised network was locked, they suggested that the phone was a refurb and purchased in France originally?
But, I purchased the phone almost 24 months to the day ago, and Samsung were able to confirm this, so why, if indeed it was a refurb, why would they repair it under warranty if older than 2 years?
Anyway, problem now fixed, £20 out of pocket but, worth it to get my mega back!"Hope for the Best
 Prepare for the worst"0

More like a grey import than a refurb .0
