The seller chooses the courier, there were no alternatives.
The seller also stated that if the parcel was returned to them by the courier (quite possible if they then lied about attempting a second delivery) they would "refund less the delivery cost"
When the parcel turned up a day late I asked them for a refund of the delivery cost, they told me that partial refunds weren't possible.
Sellers must take responsibility for the actions of their agents, the delivery is part of the overall buying process and having to wait in for an additional day costs money.
I think a negative in this situation is quite justified.0 -

How can you ask for a refund on the delivery cost when it was delivered? You are everything that is !!!!ing wrong with ebay
It depends what they stated as the delivery times.
If they said 1-3 working days as delivery and it took 4-5, I'd like a refund. The seller should get one from the courier as well if they claimed 1-3 working days.
Some people have to take time off work to accept deliveries (at a cost of either holidays or an unpaid day), it's not bizarre that people might get upset when they have to do it twice.0 -

The sender would only get a refund on a high end delivery service such as RM special delivery.0
