Well I've just had my first Friday night without babysitting since the end of August and I didn't know what to do with myself.

It's also the first Friday night that they haven't been free to go out while you babysit. I wonder how long they will want that to continue?

Thank you. I have stepped right back. They deleted me on Facebook on day one and I have deleted their phone numbers so I can't give in to a moment of madness (obviously I've written my son's number down - I would never turn my back on him but neither am I going to beg )
Waiting game now and it's torment.

Pair of self centred fools! If your son is happy to be played like a fiddle and not man up then there is little anyone can do except to wait for him to grow a pair. At least they will be able to bond with the baby they have been happy to bring to you while they spend every weekend with her ;)
  • She sounds very manipulative.

TBH I think money is the root of all this, that the gran wouldn't give them the money they demanded (and why should she?). Don't back down

I have backed down. I have backed down as much as anyone could because nothing matters to me more than having a relationship with my 4 month old granddaughter. I have apologised for being judgmental when I should have been supportive and haven't mentioned any of the awful stuff they have done.
They have blocked my number so I can't phone them, my son shut the door in my face when I took round some more of the baby's things and they have ignored letters.
I am contacting a Family Mediation Centre on Monday but doubt that will make any difference.
