I take it you missed the rest of my post where I said that small high value items are kept in a secure cage that only a handful of people will have access to? Where as the magazines would be stored normally without additional security.

And also where I said that amazon keep strict stock control by not only checking stock levels, but also that the correct item is in the correct "bin"? That involves checking each item individually. They have a dedicated team who's job is to do ICQA all day every day.

In other words, if the magazines were swapped out for an ipad, there is going to be records of who scanned that item out. There will be a record of who packed it etc also.

On top of that all their staff go through detectors and have their entire body searched every time they leave the warehouse floor. As well as the warehouse floor also being full of cameras.

Again, just demonstrating why amazon might not be concerned. They've got everything pretty tightly sewn up on their end and it was them who handled the order.

I didn't miss any of your post. What I am querying is how Amazon verify that a consignment supplied by a 3rd party documented as 'iPads' actually are iPads? If it's boxed and sealed but contains magazines, how would they know, if it comes in from China in that form?

As I said in previous posts, they have a team dedicated to not only checking stock levels but also ensuring the correct item is in the correct bin.

That sometimes involves opening boxes and checking the contents if the packaging does not let them see what is contained inside.

However from what OP has said, it doesn't sound as if 3 magazines were inside an ipad box (for one, i doubt they would fit) but rather that 3 magazines had been packaged and sent to them instead of an ipad.

To me it sounds more like the parcels were labelled up wrong, OPs address label was added to someone else's magazine order and either the iPad went to the person who ordered the magazines or to someone else if the orders and labels were out of sync on the packing line.

I highly doubt the magazines were in the actual iPad box because they just wouldn't fit and I doubt they were delivered from Hong Kong because the magazines in the box are UK magazines.

It transpires I was justified in my quibble with Amazon. Twelve days later I receive my money back. And only after what should of happened in the first instance. Investigation!

Really don't make a lot of sense. Everyone, incl Amazon, told you that after an investigation you'd get your money back. What's the problem?

Did you really think they would just take your word for it and immediately refund you?
