Bearing in mind all that we have discussed, mainly about JC+ trying to scrutinise our UJM job search anyway they can, with a view to sanctions.
I just had a thought.:j
Even though JC+ have told me that I have to record my job search activity in the Activity History section of UJM, they have not specifically stated that I have to apply for jobs through UJM. UJM says that it is just a venue. Many if not all the job ads on UJM are simply copies of jobs on other job sites, such as Monster(which hosts UJM), Jobserve, Totaljobs etc. If someone sees a job they like on UJM they don't have to click on it and apply, but just go to the original site and look and apply there instead. This way we can still apply for those jobs, but without the hassle of possible sanctions by not applying for jobs we have viewed on UJM, should we choose to do so.:)
Yep. They say you should have a UJM account, although they can't force that either, and they expect you to use it to search for jobs, but you don't have to use it at all for anything and there's nothing they can do about it.
I have a UJM account and I did look for jobs on there but only applied for a few through there, the rest were on other sites so I went through them rather than UJM. They never had access and, aside from them few, the jobs I listed and showed proof of were all through other sites. They never actually asked for proof that I had an account.
So yeah, you're right, as long as you provide proof of applying for jobs and just deny them access to UJM you can basically never bother with it and there's nothing at all they can do.0 -

Oh Dear, it seems we have a troll.
A person who's first post to this thread is to bash the dole ponce's, because he thinks like the Government, that the poor and unemployed are the cause of all this countries present problems.
If he/she had actually read any or most of the posts in this thread, he/she would see that we are not against working, but just want to protect our rights. Perhaps he/she has a problem with this. Perhaps he/she works for JC+. :rotfl:0 -

No. However, you can't just blame job seekers for how the country is when the JC don't bother to help in any way and in some cases even make things worse.
Why should job seekers take all the blame?
On the same point, not all advisors are to blame either. Some do try their best to help.
Your post is insulting to many job seekers, it's not true and you're putting all blame on to one side. So I counteracted it by posting it from the other side using similar wording.0 -
Some jobcentres are actually very good though0

I don't have to read the whole thread, full of the same old oh poor me I have to do what the JC tell me for my JSA.
Thank god we dont have a left-wing, tree hugging government and one that knows what is really going on in this country.0 -
We have a tory in the room, lol
Are you David Cameron per chance
How's the pig0 -
I find it odd how many people defend the job centre but fear ever having to go there should they lose their job.
Some also say job seekers should do exactly as the job centre ask yet complain about what they're asked to do in their jobs and I'm betting some will try to/will avoid doing certain things asked of them.
For most who go to the job centre, they're just trying their hardest to escape with the least amount of hassle, as much confidence as possible and trying to avoid wasting their own time or lose money they're entitled to just because they've got a bad advisor.0 -

It's clear you haven't read the whole thread. That's not the case at all.0 -
we need a government that helps the workers, but also has compassion for the most needy in society as well, some people are only on benefits to milk it, but some are genuinely looking for work and would rather work if the could0
