How to open a 2nd current a/c with same bank

One peculiarity of current accounts is that some banks allow you to have more than one (of the same issue) in your sole name, instead of just increasing the maximum allowed in one. Try and find out on the banks' websites though, and you'd do well to spot it, except perhaps by implication in the T & Cs. So, I think a number of people on here would like advice as to how to go about opening a second account; do any banks have a link from when you are banking online, or are they all accessible from a fresh application? Or maybe you have to apply in branch? Of the banks paying 3%APR or more, Tesco allows two sole accounts @£3000 and Bank of Scotland three @ £5000 each.

Don't they all? Some banks limit you to one current account of a certain type, e.g. Halifax Reward, or TSB Classic Plus, but you can have several of their bog standard accounts if you want.0 -

I found links to open savings & bank account from tesco banking, it logs you in and pre-fills most of the details for you
With BOS it simply links to the sign up page and you have to enter all the details again.0 -

Look at the Products option. As long as you only have 1 account then you can apply for another. Unlike other accounts it doesn't matter whether the account is joint or sole, it's still only 2 totalRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

To keep your information secure, your Tesco Bank Online Banking session has timed out because there has been no activity for over 10 minutes.0 -
If you're talking about 'Apply for a new product' on the bottom right of the first page you land on, I've already tried that; it just leads to the external application.0
