  • Evening, from a wet and windy West Yorkshire, but it has been a good excuse to light the living room stove :D

La escocesa, thank you for starting us off this morning.

Ally Congratulations on your 6 month anniversary, time has passed so quickly.

La escocesa Congratulations also on your 7 month anniversary, well done on not adding to your debt.

Legomum Myself, my sister and nephew are all dyslexics. It varies dramatically in its severity and technology can help a lot, like being able to type replies or answers on a devise that has spell check or listening to audio books or speech to text software. My dyslexia means I'm a very slow reader, even though I thoroughly enjoy reading books and have always read daily to my children. I some times find it hard to decode new words and I need to ask ds to help, the irony being I taught him to read :o, another thing I do is miss words out of sentences (both when writing and occasionally when talking) and syllables out of words and my spelling is abysmal . I find it difficult to scan text and need to read every word thus I find bullet points easy to read than the same information written in paragraph format and I prefer my recipes to have the ingredients listed seperatly not just in with the method. My own coping strategies don't work as well when I am tired. For some people certain fonts work better and/or text colour or background colour. Their are lots of different things that can be done for dyslexic to help them.

    Thanks Bob & Baileysbabe.
  • Hope everyone had a great day.

Aside from putting diesel in my car it was again a NSD for me :)
Listed up one item on Gumtree hopefully pick up 10-15 quid for it, will list some more tomorrow
Took the test that was waiting for me for this job and passed so chuffed with that, now facing another but have until 24th to complete it - ill do it tomorrow :)
Noticed a full box of southern fried chicken in the fridge going out of date tomorrow, currently heating that up so that I can have some tomorrow for my lunch :)

  • Very late check in from me tonight, after what I will confess has been a 'challenging' day. But I'm still going and don't feel too broken or anything so that's a bonus. You can always guarantee that a windy day brings out the worst in the kids at school, which it certainly did today... Plus dh is having a bad day (which involves him staying in bed and hiding from the world).

[STRIKE];) check banking - no PAD[/STRIKE]
;) aim for nsd dh didn't get as far as making dinner so I ended up with takeaway chicken and chips for the kids from Mr M (£4)
[STRIKE];) leave a list of jobs for dh[/STRIKE] he didn't do a single one
    [STRIKE];) full day of teaching[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE];) mark a set of books[/STRIKE]
;) prep for my lesson observation tomorrow :(My laptop at school broke, and I still haven't done this yet - next on my list :(:(:(
[STRIKE];) go to my friend's exercise class[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE];) discuss cost of training sessions with my friend[/STRIKE]
;) make no big decisions as I'm tired failed miserably here - I've called the Crisis team in for dh.
[STRIKE];) all meals from stores[/STRIKE] for me yes...
;) fix a hoover my mam has given us, which is newer than ours but needs a bit of repair work (and I do love a hoover every day, :rotfl:) needs a new bit ordering

    ;)

Hopefully I'll be back on properly tomorrow (but don't hold your breath!).

    Evening all :)
Thanks for the start Clootiesmum :)

Late posting today, as I had a bad night's sleep, was rushing about this morning, had a dental appointment at lunchtime, DD2 and non-sleeping baby this afternoon, plus a visitor with another baby

So apart from all that, I have:
Not a NSD as I had to pay the dental bill  Luckily it was only hygienist stuff, but still! Also bought a nice skirt in the CS (£7 but new with tags), chicken food and a sundried tomato loaf.

HM meals from what I have in (apart from the sundried tomato loaf, which was lovely with HM tomato soup). Used up a free sample of couscous that I was sent a while ago :)

Cleaned and tidied round before the dental appointment, including washing the kitchen floor which got missed yesterday, plus the bathroom one :)

Registered with a new dental practice. The dentist we have attended for more than 20 years has recently retired, and I just don't like the new regime, as it is so chaotic :( We are (no choice here unless on benefits) private patients, so might as well be happy with what is offered! Not cheaper, but at least I won't dread going

Did an online survey (just one available :()

Continued to use moisturiser from cut up tube - I will need to buy a new one by around Thursday though

    Today's Mins items:
    # 33, baby bottle, returned to DD2
    # 34, 35, 2 little plastic pots used for baby food, also returned to DD
Baby GD is nearly 2 now, and we no longer use these items :)

Walked pup this morning (OH did the afternoon one)

Not a great deal achieved unfortunately, and tomorrow is unlikely to be much better as it is grandma day :rotfl:
