ESA and pension

I did not declare my pension to the DWP in July. This is because I was not receiving the pension - I was not in full time education at that time, nor was I receiving PIP.
I made the claim for both ESA and PIP in July 2015.
At the beginning of November, I was awarded PIP - and was backdated an amount from July.
Two weeks ago, I posted my PIP confirmation letter to West Midlands/Wolverhampton Pension Fund for them to reinstate my pension. They paid a backdated amount - from when I first made my claim for PIP back in July.
Two days ago, I received a letter from DWP asking me to provide them with more information about this pension in order to assist them with my ESA claim.0 -
Looking at this now, is it possible that ESA have overpaid me (that is only IF they deduct the pension from my ESA) - baring in mind I am still in the assessment phase?
Well, I'll soon find out when they send a letter I suppose!
Baring in mind also that I have just had my ESA medical.
So I may not even be entitled to ESA at all.0 -

The pension payments will probably be deducted pound for pound from your income based ESA. They may also take into account the lump sum payment you received as paying off debts that are not due is not a reasonable way to reduce your capital. You claimed PIP in July so I assume you were disabled at the time you received the lump sum.0 -
They should not take into account my lump sum - I did not have it at the time I made my claim.
Money is incredibly intangible - I did not spend the money paying off debt - I lied.
I will not divulge how I spent the money, but all I can say is that I only had £5000 - which I declared in my initial application - at the time I made it in July. I still have this amount, but I am now using it to live off - it will be gone very soon.
The lump sum was paid in January - 6 months prior to making the claim for ESA.0 -

PIP is for people with long term health conditions. Anyway, the DWP will soon be aware you had a lump sum payment from the pension provider prior to making a claim for ESA.0 -
I do have a long term disability. Are you trying to say I haven't? If not, why mention it?
If they are aware, they can see that I no longer have that amount, and will be able to see exactly what it was spent on.0 -

So were you getting money from the pension which you then stopped while you claimed ESA and now want to start taking again?0 -
I was receiving the pension as I was in full time education.
I am taking a one year break in my course due to medical problems.
It is incredibly complex!

There is a qualifying period for PIP so you would have had the disability prior to making the claim. It is relevant in that you disposed of £16,000 in the months before claiming ESA and PIP. The DWP want details of the pension provider in regard to your income based ESA claim.
There is no reason for the thread to be deleted, it looks like you are panicking0
