If it were a wheel sensor I think you would just have to pay the men, the damn things can be impossible to shift.

However this is a little different, they replaced the seal in or on the unit, now it is knackered. A little suspect, there is a good chance that they damaged it in some way.

    Proving that is another matter.

Yes, it is the one inside the sensor, not the ones on wheel.
As you said, one of the problem is I don't know how to prove it. I just know it worked before I visit the workshop and it broke down after.

You might get 1 in 10 sensors off intact, obviously it is worse the older the car gets. I'm afraid it is one of those things, I would just pay them.

It is pressure sensor inside the ABS unit. There is only one and If I replace the unit. It will cost me more than £1000.

Unfortunately, parts for expensive cars don't get cheaper as the cars do.

Go to the garage, ask to see the damaged part, take picks and post them here for us to see.

Isn't this the same sort of thing as if a bolt shears off or spark plug threads or oil pan threads are found to be stripped (possibly be previous mechanic); you can't really blame the current garage or not expect to contribute; I don't suppose they deliberately broke your sensor; just one of those things that can happen.
