Morning! Newbie here, #512 is ready with a terramundi pot! It's already rattling with a few coins, hope it's OK to leave them there. I've emptied my purse and added £2.65 to the pot.

I'd like the total at the end to be a surprise, but my target is £350.

    Morning Sue-UU

Thank you for the new thread.

I spent 32p today which was remaining on a gift card so I have potted the cash I would have used. From small acorns mighty oaks grow.

A gold star for you, Frogletina, thanks so much for your help. :staradmin

A very Good Afternoon to all SPCers (well, at least it was morning when I started this :rotfl:). I hope this is the beginning of a very lucrative year for each and everyone of us. Save well folks, and be sure to have read the 1st Post to get ideas on how to save more! {{{Hugs}}} to all members who are unwell or low in the hope that you'll soon be much better. :D

Welcome guys! I said I'd be more active with SPC9 so I've put whatever coppers have been flying around into my resealed pot from last year! ;)

So that's €1 popped in the pot today!

Sue could I please set a target of €250 please? Don't mind if I don't get there but nice to have a target all the same!!

Well done, tatabubbly, you're away now...and don't forget your words! ;)BTW. your Target is now on board, good luck with it.
    Morning Everyone :D

I'm very pleased to be starting this Challenge afresh for the new Year....Last Year/This Year was not great.....although still managed to save which I'm proud about!! :)

This Year I plan on saving EVEN MORE!! :D

Hoping to have a small amount to Pot this Afternoon when I get home.....

Hope you ALL have a WONDERFUL Day....xXx :)

You have a wonderful day too, Helen, and all the very best with another great saving year as well! ;)
    Good morning :)

Congratulations on all your fab totals yesterday :T It's very inspiring to read.

First official day as a potter for me and I'm starting my pot off with £7.85. This is made up of change I had already collected before starting this challenge. Hoping to add to this later with change left over from car parking :)

You're officially on your way, Daisychain, make it a great year! :j
A good beginning for you, Westie, more than can be said for me with the date blunders! At the time of writing the page out I couldn't make my mind up which Thursday would be best. Bless you for telling me. A shiny well-deserved gold star is yours. :staradmin Also, another for a very thorough welcome earlier, thanks so much. :staradmin BTW. Did your MOT go ok?

I hope your saving year is just as good as this last one, nanto3girls!!

    Good morning everyone :hello:

Thanks for the new thread, Sue. After our amazing total for SPC8, please could you put me (and DH!) down for a target of £1000.

    20p potted... £999.80 to go :o

I've updated your Target, Vicky, all the best in achieving it!! Didn't you ever do well!!!!!! :j

Hi folks! I'm on for 2016 target £500. Still to count up SPC8 as had few late nights at work but racing home tonight to count up!

    Good luck everyone

Your target's updated also, Hope, all the best with it, and I look forward to seeing you later with your declaration on on SPC 8!! ;)

    Morning,
just realised that I actually saved quite a bit more than I declared last night as precious £2 are saved into a terramundi pot which I shall smash (turn upside down to get them out!) only when it's full. I didn't count them in just wondering if I should this year although it might not get emptied??

    Merry X

You decide which is best for you, Merry, IF you decide to declare them, then please do so on SPC 8. If you'd sooner keep them until later - don't forget to let me know how much you have! :D I see what Westie means about your house deposit total, you're doing so very well!!!

Good morning Sue-uu & all other "pot-ters" -in again for another year and starting my pot with £12.19 which are the coins I couldn't bag for the bank. £505 ready to bank from last years pot which I will be using to buy Premium Bonds.
    (£50 won this year):j

If it is possible to set a target this year then please could you make mine £600. Thanks

A good win with ERNIE, kiplingmonkey!!! Not often I hear of anyone winning with those. Your Target is all sorted for you, best wishes with it.

£11 potted this morning, that will be all as planning to have a no spend weekend and my purse is now empty.

Good luck to all potters xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well done on your savings, !!!!!!, I'm a once a week shopper and saver too, but at least we don't get chance to waste it either!! ;)

That awful empty sound is horrible, TheCatsandDogsMother, the secret is to get a fair bit of small change to start with, at least after that it sounds better when you pot!!

So you're away now then, Lucy! What a terrific year you've just had!!! :j
510 reporting counted my change this morning and my pot is starting off with £13.60

Will get my Sig sorted asap

Great saving, NoMoreCards, and yes, if you could sort your siggy out I'd be so grateful. :D

Aha! How astute your DH is, Justforme, a very clever chap!!!!! So beware and save, save, save!!! :j

Potting newbie #501 reporting in to say the holding piggy bank has been transferred to the sealed one. Didn't count it as I want my savings to be a surprise this time next year. I won't attain the heady heights of some here, but every penny counts :D

Neither will I - ever, Dizzy Imp, but all of us have different jobs/circumstances, but so long as we ALL do our best That's what counts. Well done for reading the 1st post so well. ;)

If you mean your SPC No, Hicksy, it's perfectly ok. I hope little Jack's a lot better now, poor little chap. :A

See you later on SPC 8 for your declaration, LeaLea.

Oooh well done your OH, curly!!! :j BTW. your Target is all set for you, good luck with it.

Thanks so much, siju, much appreciated. You have as good a year this time round as you've just had and you'll be doing brilliantly!!! Go for it!!! :D

Hello sunshine, not a newbie anymore, a fully fledged member!! :DYour Target has been put alongside your name which is now on the 3rd post down (I had too many characters on the other). If you want a fair amount at the end of next year but a surprise, then work out roughly how much you'd need to save per week, in your case about £7 and put as close to that in as possible without counting it too well, if that makes sense. You could always be sure to put £7 in plus uncounted bits and pieces of change plus Birthday money etc!
Keep your pot out of sight so it doesn't attract attention! ;)

Helloooo again, Cinders:, it's lovely to see you. I guess you've declared over on SPC 8 so Ill pop back in a mo and see you there. Good to know you've already started again!! :j

Have a great day, Potters, and remember, you want as much as possible saved for next year....don't let the shops have too much of your hard-earned cash!! ;)

    Sue xx

Good afternoon to all and a big welcome to all of our new potters. :D

Please count me in for SPC 9 Sue and thank you for the shiny new thread.

I found a lonely 5p coin in my jacket pocket and tried to pot it only to find that Dopey DH had resealed my pot too well and covered up the slot! :rotfl: It's fine now and ready and waiting to be fed.

Good luck to everyone for 2016, enjoy saving.

To be fair, I think a lot get swept up in the excitement of it all, but then, for one reason of another, can't or don't wish to keep it up,

PLEASE take note everyone Thursday 3rd November is the closing date for 2015, the day we declare what we've saved. Please, kindly declare your monies saved within 2 weeks of the 5th, thank you kindly.

The starting date for the next thread
SPC 9 (2015) will be Friday 4th November 2016. Yes, the following day!
