Maybe people do not know how to look at a company on Companies House.
There are lots of Student Support Centre with a location in brackets after.
EG The Student Support Centre (Southern) Ltd
Which is messy but would make sense when starting out. More than likely franchised or licensed.
Now there is just one The Student Support Centre Limited.
So all they did was dissolve the many and run it all under one company which is tidier.
I can't link what I am looking at so either trust me or go to:
wck2 . companieshouse . gov . uk
and in 1) company name type in The Student Support Centre then 3) search and you will see they are an active company0 -
I see, thanks.
Any other advice on how to hit back at these guys? I have spare time. I'd like to waste their time.0 -
Hi everyone, I see this thread is old, but has been on/off for a few years and is the most detailed. We have been through the same rollercoaster with student support blabla. Me and my kids have lived in Italy for past 5 years, when we returned to UK i felt guilty i have wrecked such change on my kids and they ended up in a pretty bad school because of in-year submissions. So when the school "recommended" us the Student Support Centre it sounded great. I was aching to do everything possible to help my kids and didn't have money for a tutor (single mom). Seeing we moved to Italy when my daughter just started pre-school in London I was not very familiar with the school system (I only went to high school here). The salesman said he is an ex teacher that schooling is terrible and assessed my kids as backwards. He was a kind and soft spoken man, totally mesmerised even my naughty brats. THEY said they wanted it. (Also made them cry when assessed them as useless). Story short: I signed up for 4,400£ course, thinking it was going to see us to the end of high school. Got a box of old DVDs and some booklets. My kids caught up with their peers in 6 months even though they still spell like monkeys, but I'm sure they'll be fine by end of school year. We changed school. And everything is peachy except I already wasted 600£ and and seeing to be paying 93 pounds a month for other 3,5 years. So honestly... I don't care about debt collecting letters - I called Barclays, my bank, told them the whole deal and cancelled my direct debit, saying they will try to debit - DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING. They even recalled my last payment and i have it back. I spoke to the SSScammers and their amazing 3j finance company - set up JUST for their loans and debt collection and explained to everyone why I am not planning to keep on paying. They said they will send letters and call and I will get penalised - let them. Yes my credit history will get worse, but I won't lose 4k that I could get my kids a thousand beautiful and useful things with. I don't know if they can take legal action - if they try i'll hit them back. This is a scam.0
