Well I normally do overtime on Mondays so have technically lost 2 days pay by not working them, now going to need a 3rd day.
I phoned npower yesterday and was told someone would call me back, no one did, so I rang again today to see what's going on
I was told the executive complaints handler that is handling my case is off on holiday and back tomorrow who will then contact me within 48 hours with a new appointment date that is convenient to me.
I asked if anyone else there could give me a new date today and was told only the person who is on holiday could do this.
So one month on and back where I started, waiting for an appointment, I'm not really interested in compensation I just want to go to sleep at night not worrying about the fact my electric bill is rising £100 per month.0 -
So still had no call from npower to rearrange it, so called back again today, managed to speak with someone after 15 mins on hold and the 18th of decemember is the earliest they can reschedule it for.
starting to think my prediction of 20 phonecalls/6 months is going to come true.
*update - got a call to say they can do the 15th now insted*0 -
So today i took more time off today to wait for the engineer between 8am-1pm for there third attempt to do it, I phoned both Npower and the company carrying out the test to double check they both had my mobile number incase anything goes wrong, told by both not to worry they will definetly be coming out, great I think.
1.22pm Npower ring to say unfortunately they gave the engineer my plot number not my address, he couldnt find it so has abandoned the call and cant come back today.
Now schedualed to happen for a 4th time on the 21st of Dec.0 -

Absolutely disgusting behavior by them. Demand compensation as I feel sure they won't offer it willingly!0 -

So today I got so sick of waiting I decided to do the kettle test, switched everything off except the kettle (2500/3000kw) rating and recorded 54 flashes per minute while it boiled, which seemed about right.
I then trace the wires downstairs (both live/neutral) coming from my meter through all the trucking, all ok no sign of damage/tampering.
I followed them for about 10 foot to an fuse box downstairs, (each flat has its own) turned it off which cut all power to my flat (so far so good)
Then returned two hours later to test it with a stop watch, recorded a flash every 21 seconds, which I work out to be about 4 kwh per day with zero usage
I then tried it with just my fridge turned on and it flashed once every 9 seconds around 8 kwh per day.
So it would seem the meter is indeed faulty, no electricity theft is taking place, and its most inaccurate at low level usage than high0 -
I would ask the guy who comes out to raise a job to fit a check meter. basically another (new) meter that's fitted alongside yours.
over a period of time both meters can be checked to see if they advance equally.. (or not).
any test the installer does may not pick up a fault in the 5 minutes he's there.0 -
Thanks for the info, not sure if it will ever get tested now, my slot for today was between 8-10am, at 9am, I thought to myself ill give the company Npower is using a quick ring, no record of my address on there system again, ask to check for block 2 flat 7, oh found it, absoluting fuming...
Last week I told the testing complay,, Npower, and my executive complaint handler of Npower's mistake in give my plot reference insted of my address "which is of format 248C street name"
The only time I gave Npower the plot reference was in an email they sent me asking to comfirm it after I signed up, my bills, online account, security question to comfirm it are all my correct address
Now have to hope they can get the engineer my address before he abandons it again ....0 -
Is it not possible to put a note to the engineer which states. ring 30 mins before..
That way you can guide them to the right address0 -
