Afternoon all!
I'm still an excitable little puppy dog about my friend's baby! La escocesa - congratulations to your cousin!
Had a good evening at the cinema with my friend although I was naughty and bought some popcorn! Went to see Suffragette - good film but as its only a 12A I don't think it did the horrors that went on justice, and also a very big subject to condense into a film. Shame that it only came out recently but there was hardly anyone watching it.
Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Pay £5 reward off CC
* No TV on this morning
* Take lunch to work
* Charge phone in work
* Order present for baby
* Text instructor about circuits (should have a session left as it was cancelled last week but system is trying to charge me!)
* Go to circuits
* Dinner from stores
* Wash hair and let dry naturally
Think that's everything. Hope you all have a great day!Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89
Current debt - £5,435.00
Total paid off - £10,165.89 (65% paid off)0 -

Baileysbabe and anyone else who may have enquiring minds (young or not so young):
You can claim a free poster of 'The Hunt' the BBC's New ground-breaking series, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, which explores the dynamic relationship between predator and their prey.
http://www.open.edu/openlearn/whats-on/tv/the-hunt
:AZiggy Thank you for thinking of me and my family :AI have applied for a printed poster and will double check we have recorded the series, the interactive app will also be downloaded and I may see if ds wishes to do one (or more of the related courses). Resources like are brilliant for HE as I can go with what is offered or we can add in other resources to make a bigger study unit and or adapt it for younger/older students. The OU posters are also free, which is a price I like :money:Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Hello,
I've been uber-busy so not much of a post, I'm afraid. Awoken, again, by neighbour's builder.
Debt-Free Nillionaire Month 5:
* OH had a full day treating clients today. Hurrah! That's about £80 profit.
* Cooked dinner from scratch even though I felt like ordering a takeaway.
* Chased some remaining missing money from the Council from when we were on benefits. They say they've paid us a discretionary £80 and they flippin' well haven't. Got my teeth into this one and I'm not letting go.
Have a good evening everyone.

Princess Pea - I bought a pack of the teeny tiny plastic food boxes with lids from the 99p Shop. Every week I fill them up with raisins, cereal, muesli, dried apricots, etc. Boxes so small, they provide automatic portion control too.
Twiggy - I went to see 'Suffragette' last week with the local Labour Party women's group. Good film. Cinema was full. Was surprised at that, but pleased.
Dawn - We watched HF-W's food waste prog last night & it wound us up big time. I was just about crying when the farmers have up their farming because they were unable to supply supermarkets & make even a little money. All those lovely parsnips that weren't good enough for the supermarket. There was absolutely nothing wrong with them. A criminal waste of food. I might put HFW's new Leftovers book on my Christmas list.

And now for today's list of money saving hilights:
*Energy saving stuff - One lot of bath water did 2 baths, laundry done over night on cheap tariff, heated airer will be switched on last thing to make more use of cheap tariff.
*Made quick picnic to take on day out.
*Delivered a gift to family member as we were driving past.
*Shared a coffee in park cafe so only had to pay for one.
*Free fitness walking 2.4 miles & enjoying the fresh air.
*Took damaged item (squashed by post office) to town to see if it was repairable as company I bought it from told me to keep it & will send me a replacement as well. Got it repaired for £4.20. Excellent. It will do as a gift now :-)
*Made use of excellent festive Thornton's offer. They are doing 5 for £20 on most of their Christmas range so we enjoyed choosing, esp big choc reindeer for smallest nephew & some lovely festive boxes of chocs.
*Still with gift list in hand, took my £6 off a £30 spend voucher to Waitrose. I top-sliced Nov grocery budget by £30 to make use of this. Several gifts bought. Free 'Guardian' & free coffees.
*Bought a ys beef shank joint £1.49.
*mr f has attempted to mend storage heater controls with tweezers while I mended the dehumidifier again with string.
*Tweaked meal plans to make a veggie curry tonight to use some stuff up.
*Treated myself to a new, current magazine which felt like a real treat, unlike when I used to buy about 15 a month in the Spendy Decades. Used my Personal Spends so zero effect on bank account.
Best wishes to all,

Clooties mum Thank you for starting the thread off this morning, I have no idea what is wrong with the title, please somebody tell me as I have spent way to long trying to work it out for myself.
To everyone who participates it this thread, I would like to say a big thank you. I read along and when my technology is playing I subscribe and use the thanks button. I feel part of this community just sometimes I don't always talk sometimes because technology is being uncooperative, sometimes because I'm exhausted (fatigue is a big feature of my life), sometimes as I'm not mentally up for joining in and other times because I don't have anything to say. Imagine we are all in the same building I am happy to be there but I am just watching from the sidelines drinking a mug of tea and enjoying the company. In RL I often find myself thinking I must let you guys know about or motivating myself do things that I told you I would do that day.
Today:
LSD - HE activity
Open curtains fully
Close curtains before it gets dark
Return library books
Borrow library books
Turn off lights and appliances not in use

Updated list

List for me today:
Used stewed (gifted) plums from freezer with my porridge and yogurt this morning instead of bought fruit
Done
Check banks Done, no surprises
Surveys if any are available A couple for onepoll plus on for Ipsos i-say which appears to include them sending me liquid detergent to try :T
Sort through fridge and freeze anything that needs using and won't be used straight away (Did anyone else see Hugh F-W on the TV last night? I feel awful if I waste anything - I can't believe the amount of food those people were throwing away :eek:) Froze half a HG parsnip (a big one) and three quarters of a lemon whose zest had been grated off. It will do when lemon juice is called for, or will end up in the next batch of marmalade
Make a sausage casserole to use up last of the cooked sausages in the freezer
Done, and there is loads for tomorrow as well
Added half a red pepper and half a tin of sweetcorn from the fridge, as part of my using up drive
Just the thing for a rainy November day!
Put books that have been left out away before baby GD gets them Done (my cookery books, that is, she has lots of books here of her own, and I am always looking in the charity shops for new ones
)
Buy some veg and fruit at the market - I am out of spuds and carrots, and the fruit bowl is empty. It is cheaper and better quality at the market than at any of the supermarkets! Done, potatoes, carrots and fruit only bought, no other spends!I am having to start a shopping list though, as I am starting to run out of some basics
Take a couple of items to sales unit, which is right next door to where the market is held, move things around a bit and tidy up
Done, and a small item sold while I was there, so was pleased with that. Every little helps!
Walk pup later We went out this morning, but he refused twice this afternoon, once because he cannot possibly walk in his coat, and once because it was raining, and he would get wet without this coat. Gave up, as he looks like a RSPCA case when he is being pathetic and won't walk, and there is little point in my taking him out and carrying him the whole way! :rotfl:
Brush and comb pup - he looks very smart after his professional groom yesterday, though ridiculous at the moment as he has been chasing his tail for the last 5 minutes :rotfl: Why do they do that? Done, and have the scars to show for it. He seems to think it is a kind of biting game (his favourite kind) and it is a bit like trying to brush a baby crocodile
Take 2 dog food bowls (nice stainless steel ones) to animal charity shop. They belonged to my previous 2 dogs
but are too big for new pup. Done
See if any books can go with them (contribution to Mins game total) Done
Mins game items today:
5&6 - 2 stainless steel pet bowls to animal charity
7 - very worthy book on ethical living to CS
8 - more interesting book to sales unit; if it doesn't sell, it will go to the CS as well
9 - a hyacinth vase to sales unit; a nice blue and white delft one (but I prefer to use the glass ones where you can see the roots growing)
Put clean washing (and ironing :A) away Done
Look through clothes and put away the very summery things. Might find one or two Mins items there too
Oops not done this yet
Clean stairs (didn't get to this yesterday) Done
General tidy up and clean - I hate housework by and large, but if it is very messy it lowers my mood Done0 -
Evening all

I have survived the day of feeling rubbish but I have had to resort to my migraine meds because I have had a niggling headache for the entire time since I finished at work this evening. I'm already in bed and hopeful that I'll get to sleep before 11pm tonight. Fingers crossed. Cannot believe it's only day 2!
I watched that HFW programme on BBC1 last night as well - and I literally couldn't believe how much food was being wasted. I loved the bit where he took the wonky parsnips to sell outside of Morrisons.
Thanks Ziggy for the poster info - I have ordered one for my classroom.crazy_cat_lady wrote: »
