    Morning all :)
Thanks for the start Clootiesmum :)

    Take care CCL :(

Another interview DNMS? Good luck :)

    List for me today:
Used stewed (gifted) plums from freezer with my porridge and yogurt this morning instead of bought fruit :)
    Check banks
    Surveys if any are available
Sort through fridge and freeze anything that needs using and won't be used straight away (Did anyone else see Hugh F-W on the TV last night? I feel awful if I waste anything - I can't believe the amount of food those people were throwing away )
Make a sausage casserole to use up last of the cooked sausages in the freezer :)
Put books that have been left out away before baby GD gets them
Buy some veg and fruit at the market - I am out of spuds and carrots, and the fruit bowl is empty. It is cheaper and better quality at the market than at any of the supermarkets!
Take a couple of items to sales unit, which is right next door to where the market is held, and move things around a bit and tidy up :)
    Walk pup later
Brush and comb pup - he looks very smart after his professional groom yesterday, though ridiculous at the moment as he has been chasing his tail for the last 5 minutes :rotfl: Why do they do that?
Take 2 dog food bowls (nice stainless steel ones) to animal charity shop. They belonged to my previous 2 dogs :( but are too big for new pup.
See if any books can go with them (contribution to Mins game total)
Put clean washing (and ironing :A) away
Look through clothes and put away the very summery things. Might find one or two Mins items there too :)
Clean stairs (didn't get to this yesterday)
General tidy up and clean - I hate housework by and large, but if it is very messy it lowers my mood

Right, I am going to move the pup from my foot (where he has now gone to sleep - all that tail chasing must have been exhausting :rotfl:), make some more coffee and tackle the fridge and the kitchen!

Hope everyone has a good day :)
  • Hi all! Hope everyone is having a productive morning :

    hoping for a NSD today!
Bought breakfast and lunch into work
Going to visit a house later with cheaper rent than ours - in case we need to downsize
Checked banking and updated savings total
    Do laundry
Cook dinner at home today (no ordering in!)
    Swagbucks for extra points
    094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250
    Saving for our first home!
  • Hurrah just bought dgd a pair of winter boots from fleabay. Cost £9.37 including postage. Took dgd to get her feet measured - inconsiderate wotsit this is the 2nd time her feet have grown since I've been out of work! - and leather clarks boots were £40+ new.

Dawn yes it is for another p/t post. Both the one I have got (8 hrs pw) and this one (21hrs) have pros and cons. This is working in a mental health team in an area that I know has been struggling for a long time. This gives me reservations as I just know at the moment I can't go and work in another unhappy team environment. Both are in MH which is an area I have worked in for years (but I worked in housing whereas these are directly MH) and I want to go back to uni and do a masters in clinical psychology. To get accepted onto the course (NHS funding) you need to be working in the field.

The job that I already have is interesting and I am looking forward to it. It is initially a 6 month contract which I think will be enough for me as it is Friday and Saturday evenings and I won't want to do that long term.

Opps better go the group starts in 2 mins! x

  • Hi All

Menu plan done. Am getting better at this now. With all my food in store I should only need bread and milk.

I have just redone budgets and realised I have vastly underestimated the cash I require for the rest of November as I have a 10 day holiday visiting family including 2 shopping days. Now whilst I do not need any large items of clothing or shoes, just the cafe stops and snacks will use all my November budget. This will be a very testing time as traditionally I go a little wild on my annual spin taking flowers to aunties and loving the catch up. I think I need to be creative.
    Keeping my fingers crossed now.

    Maria.

Dawn, I didn't see the programme but after you mentioned it I've put it on whilst having a cuppa, I've only got 10 minutes in and seeing the parsnips farmers, getting so emotional brought tears to my eyes too, its crazy! I too very rarely waste any food and get cross with myself if I do, but I know most of my friends bin things days before even the Best Before, drives me crazy! Right cuppa finished so going to get on with my jobs and come back to the programme later on.
  • So annoyed with myself as I've just mindlessly bought a frothy coffee and cake from the caf! on campus  What a waste of £3.45! I'm terrible at work for sweet things through the day to keep going but I don't usually buy things on-site. Ho hum...

Any tips on cheap, sweet but healthy snack foods I can prepare at home and bring to work? Bearing in mind I have to fit into a wedding dress next year...

    Hi everyone

Me again :D Must start getting up earlier so I can enjoy a leisurely coffee with you :coffee:

    Here’s me:

    - Had a cheeky 3rd cocktail last night :naughty: - will be more restrained in future! :p

    - Drove to work today – saved £3.20 on travel (obvs minus little bit of petrol cost)

    - Need to post card from stash with 2nd class stamp – cousin had a baby boy :)

    - Put old carpet on freecycle and see if someone will pick it up tomorrow or Friday

    - OH has paid work on Saturday that he normally volunteers for :T

    - B/L/D from stores

    - Will turn down the thermostat a wee bit and see if we notice

    - Have already turned down water temp on water heater

Princess pea - what about jelly? Fruity jelly pots are getting me through. Can buy them for about 50p or make them yourself. Xx

Princess Pea, fruit cake is our go to sweet snack in the day. I'm cooking one now and once cooled will slice & wrap for the kids/dh's lunch boxes.
