I'm pretty sure they sell Molton Brown on QVC. That'll be cheaper than JLYou give it to her as is, next time you see her, as an "I saw this and thought of you" type of miscellaneous thoughtful gesture. A kitchen utensil is NOT an appropriate Christmas gift for anyone! Now get down to John Lewis and buy her the mandatory Molton Brown gift set all adult sons buy their mums

I'm guilty of getting her Yankee candle gift sets over and over againPasturesNew wrote: »Get a HUGE box, fill it with rolled up newspaper. Wrap the present and place it in the box. Next, get something that rattles - e.g. a coke can with a couple of ring pulls inside. Wrap and seal it.
She might like practical gifts.
!!!!!! is molton brown?
Gift sets suck. They really do. Nobody likes a naff gift set. Nobody uses that stuff... it just sits around until we need to give somebody else a present, or are asked for donations to a bric-a-brac/bring and buy sale stall.

Oooh what a wonderful gift, think of the many birthdays, anniversaries etc to come where you can add to the set !
Draining spoon, spatula etc., just inspired.
Maybe for a big occasion, golden wedding or the like, a utensil jar - yes I know, but we all have to push the boat out sometimes....0 -

BTW I thought the compulsory Xmas gift Son to Mum was Estee Lauder Youth Dew.
I'm showing my age.....0 -
What about popping it in a champagne box? Adds a good element of surprise!0

I had one of these for a birthday pressie from my folks! Considering berating them for the lack of treasure hunt now which would have made it hilarious and amazing in a surreal way x0 -
My husband once bought me an entire kitchen utensil set in a metal container for Xmas, so buying just the one item might be just a little cheapskate, Spinx, although I do like the idea of adding to year on year, a bit like pandora charms or skylanders!
My husband painstakingly wrapped each utensil up and then put them back in the separately wrapped container. He was beside himself with excitement Christmas morning when he asked me to 'guess' what my present was.
He has bought me some unforgettable christmas presents in the past just in case you're struggling for ideas for other family members: a plastic tax disc holder wrapped in a TV box, car mats all individually wrapped and a couple of litres of vegetable oil for a deep fat fryer I didn't own.0 -
I'm reading this , I'm a bit tired but this is a joke post isn't it ? It may be a top of the range spaghetti thingy but a cheap stainless steel one would do the same job . It's got to be a joke !0

If you wrap some tissue paper around the 'spoon' end, and then pop it in a small plant pot, you can wrap it so that it'll look like a toilet brush. That way you can give your mum double [STRIKE]disappointment[/STRIKE] excitement, where she has to pretend that she's thrilled with a loo brush, and then with the spaghetti strainer when she opens it. Win-win ...0
