  • I had a call from these people advising me that my contract is due for renewal and that they would arrange the upgrade for me now. Twice I asked them to confirm that they were calling from my Network Provider/people I currently have my contract with and twice they confirmed that they were - I even apologised for being suspicious and told them that I had been approached by companies in the past pretending to be my network provider. I was then asked my name and how much I pay each month - as they should know these details I said that I was busy and could I have their number and call them back. They then hung up on me! I've contacted my network provider who told me to call the police(!) and I've e-mailed a complaint to Otelo and Ofcom - neither of which have replied so I guess these con merchants will keep getting away with ripping people off.
  • I had a call from 08701111422 & 01554751384 and registered my complaint with the TPS as my numbers are all registered with them. Log on to and register your numbers if you have not done so already, or raise a complaint if you have. http://complaints.tpsonline.org.uk/Consumer/default.aspx
  • These people have appeared several times on this site. Their address is:

    G M Group Sales & Marketing Ltd
    Daisyfield Business Centre
    Appleby Street
    Blackburn
    Lancashire
    BB1 3BL

Don't call them on the 0870 number to complain, unless you want to pay high charges. Their geographical number is 01254 274944.
  • Here is a tale of woe. 18 months ago I was contacted by a very nice man called Mohammed from the GM Group in Blackburn who represented 3. He noticed from his records that my current contract was due to expire and did I want a free upgrade, millions of free minutes, millions of free texts, a free bluetooth headset and two £35 cheques to pay the final bill on my present contract also don't worry, we'll cancel your current contract and we'll start you off at £17.50 per month for 9 months then we'll contact you and re-vamp your contract before it goes up to £35 per month. Ooooh yes please, I say and 48 hours later I was the proud owner of an LG housbrick of a phone. What I didn't know was that I was also the proud owner of two £35 per month contracts. Oh and I have to this date never received my free bluetooth headset or my two £35 cheques. I tried on numerous occasions to contact the GM Group by phone (number unobtainable) and by e.mail, (no website available). I contacted 3 direct and spoke to the lovely Mahindra in Mumbai who said you are contracted for both these contracts and we at 3 do not know the GM Group and they don't represent us, we don't care and you'll have to pay for a phone you no longer own. This I have done and when it came time to cancel my contract on the phone I don't own, I served 3 30 days notice and subsequently cancelled my direct debit. Now 3 reckon I owe them £78.20 and as such I am being bombarded with phone calls from call centres in Glasgow and Mumbai. The moral of this story?? Don't buy mobile phone contracts over the phone. What a pillarc eh??

They keep phoning my mobile from three numbers, all of which I have saved on my phone.

    01254278016 is listed under "A***holes"
08701111422 is listed under "A***holes2" and
    08700621252 is listed under "A***holes3"

I hate the phone at the best of times but marketing/scam calls (both the same thing in my opinion) really make my blood boil. Not only do they want to take my money, they want to use MY time to assist them in the process.
  • Look people that are complaining about the calls if you want them to stop its really easy, instead of giving people abuse who are only doing the job because they need the money to buy their kids christmas presents, when you pick up the phone just ask "can you please take me off your database" it is taken off by the end of the day no hassle all they have to do is hit a couple buttons and no more calls ;)
  • Alright i have had chance to have a look through the posts, and as an employee there ill let you know whats going on, the people that call you have no idea how the company gets your numbers, its just a number on the screen, all we do is hear the phone beep someone answers we say who we are where we are from and why we are calling, all we are trained to do is find out about the person and see if we can offer them something better. yes we do get commision, but if someone says they want to be removed from the data base we hit a button that says "do not call" and thats it. we are told what we can offer and for how much, we are regulated by ofcom and a genuine buisness and 3 cannot say they dont know who we are because we have just passed an audit given by 3 itself which even their main centre failed. instead of taking the mick or swearing down the phone (which in itself is against the law) just listen and you may just be surprised.
  • 1337reno - it is NOT really easy to stop these calls, I asked to be removed from the database SEVERAL times, I was also told I would be removed from the database SEVERAL times, and I still wasn't removed from the database. I had to find an email contact to finally stop the calls.

Perhaps this is one of the reasons that GM Group's employees receive abuse, people don't like being hassled and lied to. Maybe you could ask your managers to give better training to improve the service seems as so many people have had problems with GM Group? And also telling people you are calling from Three when you are not, surely that's breaking the law??? Is this something you are told to do in your training?!

I don't think that you have been reading what people have been saying. When they ask to be taken off it doesn't happen.
After the uprising of the 17th June The Secretary of the Writers Union
Had leaflets distributed in the Stalinallee Stating that the people
Had forfeited the confidence of the government And could win it back only
By redoubled efforts. Would it not be easier In that case for the government
    To dissolve the people
    And elect another?
  • well since i have been working there when we remove a number by phone it never comes back up again, admitedly only a few months ago the company did have some things that needed to be improved, but naturally with any newish company it isnt perfect right away, and in training we were all told anyone who calls and says they are from three will have their employment terminated, =) if they are still saying it they wont be if they are caught lol just do double check anyway most employees there take the do not call numbers down on the pc and email them to a manager ti make sure they are definately got rid of =) the company is regulated by ofcom and also has an iso 9001 accreditation assuring quality control is of the upmost standard. the only problem i personaly have with removing numbers is when a customer calls in off a landline and asks then hangs up as we dont have their mobile number there is nothing we can do lol you will be surprised just how often that happens =P any more questions ill answer them for ya ;)
