If you decide on the feature wall AC let me know how it turns out - I'm thinking about doing one - it sounds a bit posh doesn't it?

    Will do, mrs p. :)
TBH , imho it all comes down to what colour matches the carpet and or the sofas . White goes with anything , especially any picture on the wall. Recently on viewing a few properties , I've seen some hideous feature walls . Mainly those with wallpaper, while the rest of the room is painted . I may not even bother with a feature wall . I'll have to think about it :)

When I moved into present home every wall was painted a buttermilk colour - neutral to sell I think. & years on it is still the same except for one corner of the kitchen where I have the dining table, and last year I put up 4 strips of a brick effect paper just to give it a bit of lift.
I cosy up the rooms in winter with lots of heavy curtains , cushions and throws, then in the summer I put up lightweight curtains and put the rugs and cushions away so it looks like a garden room. As the back of my house is south facing, and I have 2 sets of french doors there (1 in kitchen, 1 in living room) it gets lots of sun so is always light and bright. I am quite a minimalist thought so some people probably think it is very plain but it works for me.
The weekend was so lovely but I was busy and couldn't take advantage of it. Hoping to get into the garden today but it is cold and misty so tempted to curl up with a book instead. The clocks changing always throw me out for a few days as well so may well close my eyes for a few minutes.
Just thought of a title for your new thread "AC - all white now". Enjoy your painting!
  • Thank you dreaming :)
All white now...mmm. I was thinking maybe , my brush with debt.
    Or maybe paint everything ..:)

Yay AC. Congratulations on the continuation of your good news. You're the epitome of the saying Onwards and Upwards. I don't get to write as often as I used to. Apparently when I'm at work they expect me to do work things now! But I'm always here cheering you on and wishing you a great life.

When you do start a new diary, would be so kind as to add a link to it in this diary please so that I don't lose you.

  • Hello muffintops:)
Great to hear from you again . I imagine ,I'd be in the debt free diary next week . I'll try to do the link next week , and see how that goes .

Seems weird . I spent a couple of hours over today and the weekend on the balcony . That is one thing I'll miss . All a bit bizarre , when you think my new flat is around the corner. It's also got the same door nos. as this flat too .

Thanks for your good wishes :)

Congratulations AC! I'm absolutely delighted for you! So fantastic to hear/read you talking about decorating and sorting things for the new place. Just a couple of months ago I think you might have felt too overwhelmed to do any of that. You're a real inspiration

I decorated my first room in this new house at the weekend. My decorating night class finishes this week, have really enjoyed it and great to meet other people who just want to learn some skills to do things for themselves. I'm already eyeing up a plastering course to do next!

Glad you have done so much, in such a short time yourself .
I've been plastered since I've been here , but I don't think that's what you meant . Go for it !
    Cheers :)
  • Wow ! Stagecoach have lost the contract running south west trains .
I doubt it will be for the better . I've had many gripes about various things, but on the whole s w t haven't been as bad as some .

Massive promises are made now . Not really an issue tbh , unless I go for a visit or a gig in London
  • Eventually managed to get out of bed, feeling rough. ( that's a surprise). However, I had 2 tasks in front of me that had to be done
before anything else . The first one is obvious, pay the outstanding balance on the purchase of my new flat. The second one, is to get to the dentist.
I've just paid the balance on the purchase :j:j

I will be going to the dentist shortly .
