That is an eye watering amount for a one bed flat........and frankly nothing special.
It looks good because it is "dressed for success"
Take away the furniture and accessories and it's pretty average.
For that price I would want a sea view.:rotfl:
Plus, it's right at the top of your budget and doesnt leave you any wriggle room.0 -
Anyhow AC, notwithstanding the chatter about the possible alternative properties, burning question is - what did your surveyor say about the gas/boiler?0
-
Wow ! Lots of responses
Regarding the kitchen , a mirror would be a priority .
Penn hill , is a little more pricey than Ashley cross . No idea why .
The other 2 places there are above shops . The maintenance was what made it more appealing also.
Still waiting for surveyor to get back to me .0 -
Still waiting to hear back from surveyor . I sent him text this morning, and will call later if need be .
The electrics have not been completed yet.
While giving my solicitor an update, I made an enquiry as to the condition of the extractors in kitchen & bathroom as they have no windows. I of course will need dehumidifiers .
Other news : utility warehouse charged me £6 for cancelling my direct debit , inspite of making payment day before it was due.
( they failed to change 'faulty' meter on 2 occasions plus other hassle)
So I sent email to lady I was dealing with and forwarded it to head office, telling them I am contacting ombudsman etc .
The lady in customer service is polite and professional. Far too good for u w . I'll leave that' for the energy forum0 -

I will give him a call tomorrow morning . These people are obviously busy . My solicitor was away from his office today also .0 -
That flat for sale in Langley road has gone.
I'm looking at the 1 bed tomorrow .
The electrics have been done. Had call from estate agent . She's worrying in case I pull out .
I'm gonna call British gas engineer and take it from there
Surveyor is sound0 -
Further update
British gas need the landlord / owner permission to visit and assess.
Leaseholder not enough clout .
Mulling it over. Gonna look at the 1 bed in penn hill tomorrow .
Going back to the property to check electrics that have been done.
That is in the afternoon .
Estate agent says she has someone lined up to buy if I pull out.
She would say that .,0 -
It's been over 15 years since I last moved, but there seems to be a lot of pressure from the EA - but maybe that is normal?Debt free and Keeping on Track0

I thought the gas engineer had already visited? Wise to think things through. Don't be rushed into a decision until you have seen the other property. When I pulled out of my previous purchase the EA said exactly the same thing. Apparently there was new purchase "champing at the bit" to buy but it was still listed several weeks later. That property had a number of problems caused by the vendor cutting corners but they only became apparent after survey.
Ask for a list of the work done on the electrics and check all plasterwork etc. has been completed.0
