  • Regarding the phone call about windows - that's just cold calling and they will try pages of numbers and leave automated message. Nothing to do with number being sold on I can't imagine

    Thanks Anna .
My usual landline phone has an answerphone. I got a cheap, one from Argos to tide me over for about a fiver.
The ring is really deafening . I will take it out of the wall now.
    Not needed .
  • I think i'm correct in saying that Vodafone do a BB only contract with no phone line? Maybe look at that for the new place?

I'm on that tariff now :) They gave me a landline phone no.
Handy , but not really necessary as most stuff is mobile phone these days .

Okay . All I can hear is a bawling baby upstairs and lots of thumping like a big bison . Hopefully the baby will quieten down . I'm playing louder music this last day or so . Not too loud . But i have to hear myself think .

Looking on right move , the only flats available seem to be ground floor ones. If I do pursue this flat and it doesn't work out, I may sell straight away . I may rent for a few months and pullout anyway .
Glad I never went with the landlady s flat . That is in the middle .

I'm a a quiet bloke ,and intend to just go with the flow . If I get a complaint I will put them in their place .

One of the joys of flat living I'm afraid AC. The only way around that is to buy a house which will go a long way to reducing neighbour noise interference.

But you would have to move either further along the coast such as Weymouth where this one is still for sale:
    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-61496942.html

or Southampton where there are numerous properties in the £155-180k range, or various inland areas.

If you really are wavering or have doubts on the current flat I really don't think it a good idea to go ahead and then sell quickly - that could be harder than you think and incur you a significant loss. Better just to pull out now, and keep looking.
  • Thanks harz :)
TBH , I just had a bad day, very tired and just went a bit ott with my emotions yesterday. I was at the potential flat on 2 occasions and heard nothing. I have to go back there again with a gas person soon .
I'm waiting to see how to ask for a price reduction and how much .
The estate agent never sent email yesterday , as discussed .

If you are seriously doubting it AC DO NOT buy and then sell straight away - that really in flushing money down the drain!!!

I know you said you were emotional but if you are having serious doubts do not purchase 'just for the sake of it'. Rent for a bit longer, another 6 months if need, that's fair less waste of money than buying and selling. If you were looking for somewhere to buy and came across a flat that was bought and then put straight back on you'd wonder why!

Have a long hard think. Tell your solicitor not to proceed any further, that way their bill isn't any bigger

AC. Anna is spot on here. So I will just say Amen to that.

My heart sank when I read your post. Such negativity. That's no way to start your new life.

You sounded as if you were spoiling for a fight with your new neighbours before you even met them.

Please just put the past behind you.

You have a golden opportunity here to reinvent yourself, to build yourself a wonderful future. Don't blow it by being negative and passive aggressive.

Fgs don't take all those negative emotions and thought processes with you. You will just end up living the same old miserable life you had before instead of embracing a new and potentially glittering future.

I've said this before but you have an opportinity many would kill for.

You are in danger of wrecking your future before you even begin.
  • And Harz is spot on too,

If you want peace and quiet then don't buy a flat. End of story.
