AC you may wish to read this regarding PM Law. Nowt to do with conveyancing, but would have me running to my old solicitor. Better the devil you know than ........ Harz makes a good point in that they will know where your funds are coming from. See if he will get close to PM's quote. £100 here or there is small fry bearing in mind you are paying 167 grand for the flat.
Notwithstanding the above, huge congratulations - onwards and upwards. Two cheers for AC. You can have the outstanding cheer when you complete

Wow congratulations AC!! What amazing news. Looked at the flat and I think you've got yourself a great deal! Nicest place in that price range by far, preferred location and got a nice bit off asking price as well. Well done!
As for the holiday - hopefully you will love your new place as much as me and you won't be wanting a holiday! Ps sounds to me like your solicitor was asking you to send your best price and they would match it? Worth a try?[STRIKE]Total debt 1.11.10 £23,446[/STRIKE]Save £6k in 2015 #129 £6121.66/£6000Save £6k in 2016 #39 £6000/£60000

Thanks very much copperjarReally delighted that you are settled in your great new abode
Haven't had a holiday for years . I'm still in holiday mode here,I think.
I know it's all about saving money here and there, but I may stay with
original solicitor . He'll be thorough . He saw the price, and admitted he couldn't match it. So , an extra £250-300 may be worth it for peace of mind.
Thanks again0 -

I'd agree with that, original solicitor was very good last time that I remember.
While still in holiday mode I wouldn't bother with a holiday! Great to explore, get excited about and settled into new house and enjoy being by the sea over spring and summer (and autumn and winter!) How exciting! So pleased for you. Once again, you knew what you wanted and made it happen! I think you underestimate just what you've done these last few months

Hmm, an unknown quantity with a questionable knowledge of contract law versus a known quantity with which you've already had a successful client relationship - know which I'd opt for. (But I'd also supply him the best quote you have from a Poole based solicitor as requested).0

Hi AC and all your helpers. Hope you don't mind a newbie posting.
Just popping into say I've read your entire story. It's fantastic! The way you've achieved what you've set out to achieve and the amazing help you've had from all your friends on here (and the laughs and tears).
Don't think I've ever read such a heartwarming thread.0 -
Thanks a lot worrier!:) you've read the entire thread?? You must be mad.
Thanks for that. I feel mellow and chilled again.
Obviously apprehensive , and I've still got a way to go to normality.
