Just received s call from utility warehouse. I've given them every reading under the sun. They now want me to give reading at 10 am and 2pm tomorrow. They should send someone around, but those day are long gone.
When the smart meters come, the sooner the better. Landlady was praising them today, and didn't wantnto hear my comments about them .

It's a very short terrace though AC. Only 3 houses, all of which look to have been totally refurbished, set back a reasonable way from the road and everything done except for stuff like blinds/curtains. Walking distance to central Weymouth and rail station, buses not far away on Dorchester Road.0

It looks very nice for what it is... A third of a big house which has been knocked into three. I could not tell the landing from the lounge; are they the same? It really does illustrate better than anything you guys have shown me yet just how much you pay for location. Pick that house up and put it somewhere in between where it is and here, maybe South Lincs, and you could buy the whole house for that price, in a reasonably nice area, too. You pays your money, you takes your choice, sho' 'nuff.0

Dont get this.......
You don't like end terrace but like flats. Or is it you feel safer being in a mid terrace.
There are terraced houses and terraced houses....
An elegant terraced house in say Cheltenham or Bath (or even Buxton) or a cute little mews cottage in Chelsea (or anyone of our better cities) is hardly the same as a back to back in Burnley or Mosside. :rotfl:
I am currently watching half a dozen or so gorgeous three bedroomed detached Derbyshire stone built houses in some of our lovely Peak District market towns and villages - all for around the £160 to £200k mark.
The only real draw back is the distance from the coast but head east to Lincolnshire, Yorkshire and further north along that coast and there are some fabulous areas to live, with property prices southerners can only dream about. Northumberland is stunningly beautiful.
Alternatively if you want to stay within your comfort zone ........head west......Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Beautiful scenery, both inland and by the coast, not as cheap as the east coast but still plenty of affordable attractive properties. And still within easy reach of your friends.0 -

Obviously I don't know Weymouth very well. One weeks holiday in 1978.......but I loved it, gorgeous wide beach.
But looking at the map that house seemed like a good location, I would have said well worth a look.
The only real drawback for me is the lack of a hall and the stairs leading directly from the lounge. But that's just one of my little quirks.
I like a separate entrance hall (preferably double height with a huge chandelier)and I'm a sucker for a grand staircase. The more "Gone with the Wind" the better. :rotfl:
I can dream.......0 -
Burglars target end of terraced houses . Easy option. I'm not the only one who says that. We'll leave that there
Good luck in your search tho' LL0 -
