Thanks Anna . Good point .
Believe it or not , it was me who needed / needs adjusting .
The noise isn't that bad . It was just a case of me being used to upstairs maisonettes tbh.
Btw: there is one for sale in upper parkstone . Not sure about the entrance tho'. I'll walk up there today or tomorrow and do my own investigation .

:) taking a stroll yourself first sounds like a great idea, at least then you know whether it's worth calling the agent.

I can imagine it takes some adjusting and you have done so well in moving your whole life to a new area.

    keep going :):)

You're sounding nice and relaxed today AC. Noise is a funny thing - my neighbour is always apologising for noise but I hardly ever hear her or her son, except for about 9.30 every night when it sounds as if she is moving furniture whilst wearing wooden clogs! It only lasts for about 5 minutes but has always intrigued me. I've never dared ask her what she is doing as she would just worry but a friend of mine suggested she might be opening a sofabed and pulling it away from the wall. That's the best suggestion yet. In my youngest's flats I was more aware of noise - especially from above - but then when she had an upstairs flat I felt we ought to be walking around on tiptoe so we weren't being a nuisance to downstairs. Where she lives now (terraced house) has suddenly turned noisy with a new family with children next door. The other thing is that many people now have wooden/laminate floors so no deadening of the sound with carpets. I believe some flats have restrictions on floor coverings because of that although I may have just dreamt that as I am having strange dreams lately.
  • Thanks dreaming . That's the thing with wooden flooring and flats.
Peiople don't realise the sipposed noise they make . The flooring exaggerates everything imho. There are ways for the noise to be deadened somewhat , but people cut corners and costs and a lot of these issues could be avoided.

Thanks Anna . Glad you think I'm doing okay. It is difficult at times to get to grips with what I've done, and what I could be doing in the
future . Difficult doing things solo , but I'm used to it .
  • So, landlay and 2 other ladies have been and gone . I obviously allowed free range to the whole flat. Landlady was impressed. The 2 ladies were also. I have a feeling the landlady expected my bedroom to be untidy.
I made sure everyone looked in. It was so tidy imho. The views out the window is great. I think I made a good impression. In the middle,of the viewing , the landlady commented on me keeping the place clean.
She has the ideal tenant .
She mentioned again about the flat in the oppposite block.
Unfortunately the lady who, owns it and lives in Richmond , was in hospital over the Christmas . She has Parkinson's .
I doubt if I could afford it, but I will have a look when approached .
The way it was put to me, it needs modernising .
In the meantime , I'll,check anything else that arises.
