"On paper" my husband was a total liability......:rotfl:
He had three other girlfriends, no money, no assets, a clapped out car which had to be pushed to start and which belched out smoke, shocking dress sense, smoked like a chimney, and was a chronic nail biter.
Worse still he was a sports fanatic......:rotfl:0 -

I would commit unspeakable acts for permission to use Voltarol again. Banned for life cos of anticoagulant.0 -

2 out 3 of those ticked already - isn't krill fishy stuff?_pale_ Although I do force down the odd cod liver oil capsule. Heat and gentle exercise is best for me. If I sit for too long I seize up.
I realise my last post was sort of going against my sensible plan, make a list, stick to it advice that I usually give. What can I say - the heart wants what the heart wants.
Re husbands - the best and the worst thing I can say about my ex is that he is a nice guy, and I get on so much better with him now (when I only see him once or twice year) than when I lived with him.
Anyway - happy days here in dreaming world. I just found an unopened jar of pickled shallots so off to measure the length of the sofa with my book and cheese and pickles. I really know how to live don't I?0 -
Pickled shallots, is it? Yet another delicacy of whose existence I have now been apprised... innit?
Three girlfriends??? (one ? each) I suppose he can't have been that serious about any of them, then.
OH likes American football... I console myself with the fact that it is only on for six months of the year, whereas soccer... :eek:0 -
Yes krill is fishy stuff....it's what whales eat....apparently a lot stronger than cod liver oil.
Didn't know that voltarol was an anticoagulant. Luckily not an issue for me. .
Three girlfriends..... yes not serious to him but I don't think they saw it that way, poor things. One in particular gave me a very hard time for "ousting" her. :rotfl:
Soccer......one of my sons is a Derby County season ticket holder. Obviously more money than sense.:rotfl: OH had one too. It was his "reward" for giving up smoking....
At the time we were skint and he wanted to watch his team. He also kept trying to give up smoking. One day I suggested that if he gave up the fags he would be able to afford a season ticket Ding. You could see the lightbulb going on.0 -

I wonder if they have dodgy knees?0 -
Apologies for anyone who felt offended by my post. I think AC knows everyone on here is giving advice with the aim of getting him in to the right place.
Something which would be interesting to know is have you ever lived in a house AC, in particularly not in the London area? There are some very strong communities in the south west where people look out for their neighbours (I don't have experience of living up north). London imho is a very unwelcoming place. Some may disagree.
I know you like the Parkstone area of Poole but getting out and about on the buses to get a feel of other areas would give you an insight and perhaps make you realise there are other places you can live. The world is your oyster. You have been brave in making changes so far and you have nothing to lose by expanding your viewing areas.
Take your time and do your research and start off with a cheeky offer. It probably won't be accepted if desireable property but you never know.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Just in case I inadvertently worry anyone - Voltarol isn't an anticoagulant, but it's forbidden if you are taking one.
How do I know my husband is at home? Television on in one room where he isn't (probably an opera), something scary and modern through the computer in another room where he isn't either, and Radio 3 in the kitchen. He isn't there either, but in the garden, not wearing his whizzy hearing aid (hearing ruined by decades of teaching music). All sources of music set to threshold of pain volume. He took offence the other day when I said that anything as loud as that stops being music and becomes noise.
Whereas for me you can't beat a bit of silence.0 -

The whales or the krill? Dreaming, I think your sense of humour and mine are a very good fit.
The harvesting of krill is thought to be extremely detrimental to the eco-system of Antarctica especially and to other areas. It seems it is a "key species". I mention this purely so anyone who cares can make an informed choice. Apparently it is all "sustainable" and "responsible" and "quota fished" now... Just like the cod, huh?0 -
Enthusiasticsaver (heck, may I call you ES?) I think you made some very good points and that it is good to get different points of view. I was not offended but did feel I should have considered further before posting my opinions, a lesson always best kept in mind and one I do not always remember. Thank you.0
