I think there is always a sense of anti-climax after an emotional upheaval - and moving is up there with bereavement and divorce - so it only to be expected. As LL says a bit of TLC will help, along with the exercise (just take it steady). Also this time of year is often a time for reflection (and birthdays too!) but you can congratulate yourself that you have taken this momentous step and done it well! And you have this thread to show you how far you have come this year so read some of it back and enjoy!
  • Happy Birthday!
I know we sound like a pile of broken records but please try not to overspend until the F and f's have been sorted and you know your real property budget. Wouldn't it be tragic if you found something just a few thousand out if your reach because you'd spent too freely while looking...

I'll say; maybe you could tell them how they disturb you every day. It sounds as if the block of flats you are in is about as well built as these houses. We have had virtuoso performances from the neighbours from hell, today. Please think about this when you view places, AC. We are stuck but you are not and other people's noise can ruin your entire quality of life.

The cash back thing is something I have only just begun to explore and, so far, have not bought anything but I'm told it can be rewarding.

Please enjoy your evening and well done on all the exercise.
  • Belated happy birthday AC
The new life and a new year in your life - and you really do deserve a bit of praise, because you're half way there, and the worst is done.

As you know, I was in a similar position to you about a year ago. I spent the first few weeks here just sort of catching up - sleeping, eating, walking, relaxing. For those few weeks, I seemed to catch anything that was going - colds, tummy bugs, etc. As someone said, your body does its best to keep going while it has to, but as soon as it knows it can relax, it will make you let it catch up on everything. So please try not to overdo it for the next few weeks. Give yourself time to recover. I think you have a fair bit of recovering to do.

I agree with what everyone else has said about not spending too much until you know where you are with settlements, house purchase, etc. Try to find something small to treat yourself for your birthday instead. You don't want to go through all this then find that you need a full time job to survive because you got a bit carried away.

Also, and LL will correct me if I am wrong, I think that buying a computer (or anything else) as a business expense will only work if your new business actually makes money. And I am not sure that that is really something that you are keen on? Apologies if I am wrong.

How is the healthy eating/cooking going?

(we're not here to nag you, just to try and keep you focused on the right goals!)
