Quit everything , and start again over 50?

Hi again everyone.

Had an optician's appt yesterday. Apparently my eyes have set off in different directions. Not Marty Feldman yet, but the optician thought it would be entertaining to let me see what the effects would be if he prescribed for each eye separately . Induced a horrid migraine, so slept a bit and was then awake through the unthinkable night.

copperjar - I do hope your buyers have got a grip. What a stressful business it is!

AC - despite trying and hoping to reduce my steroid dose, for my illness there are strict instructions to increase the dose short term when under stress. Is it the same for you?

It's going to be tricky avoiding all news indefinitely, isn't it?

Having a beer tonight with friends after work. Debating to myself ,whether I should order a cab on the company Acct .obviously I pay for it .
Or do I crash over my sisters tonight . Or sleep in the company I work in .
Decisions decisions
Just set up Royal Mail redirection for 6 months to my friends address.
Sent a text to brothers friend regarding move.
I asked if he could do next Friday . Also if he could do a rubbish run .
That could happen Saturday .

Wendy: sorry to hear about your eye/ migrane issues
I'm due to see specialist on Tuesday .1st time for six months
They tried reducing it last year ,and messed things up for me for3 months or so .( prednisolone )
Was off them completely ,but was moving like a 90 year old man .
Breathless as well . Seem to have stabilised.
My instinct is , if I lose lots of weight ,the prednisolone will be reduced or even stopped in time . I live in hope .

Current stuff: waiting for my brothers friend to say ,yay or nay.
I sent him text saying Thursday is bettet
Spoke to an estate agent in parkstone (lettings):
They say it takes a week to get cleared . That means , I decide I like somewhere,and the following week I am in

Looked at b&b .some are still expensive . But I assume I need 10 days max.
Looking at storage . Got to workout how long . Also can I gain access when needed.
At the weekend, I do all the utilities .

Other than that ,bored /smiling and I need to go

Prednisolone should come with a label saying 'damned if you do and damned if you don't'.

The fidgeting stage of moving is tiring, but better than the 'being blocked by other people ' stage. We have over the years been thwarted by both buyers and sellers.

So: Moving all my belongings out next Thursday .
Just booked ( very last one ) ,a b&b in Poole quay for 11 days .
( thurs 17 Nov -mon 28 Nov . Self catering . Good price £670, I think .
They require £150 upfront deposit .
Haven't enough in that account until completion . Hopefully ,not an issue.
If the Metallica gig happens next Friday ,I will be there . Ballot so unlikely .

It's funny hearing your stories about prednisalone.

It set off some memories.

When my husband first got sick he was sleeping 16 hours a day. They whipped him into hospital and pumped him full of pred. Literally he was wired up and he had it intravenously. The effect was nothing short of miraculous. Just in the nick of time time too because another week or so without it and he would have fallen into a coma.

Anyhoo he was great for about a year or so but then as his illness progressed subsequent courses of pred were less effective. We tried short sharp shocks of high doses given intravenously and long term tablets. It would work for a while but it became a law of diminishing returns so it was eventually abandoned.

Fortunately he never seemed to suffer any side effects.

Of all the "miracle cures" they tried pred was the only thing that ever helped. That and a dedicated regime of Physio and daily exercise for as long as he could.

It's exactly 2 years and 3 months today since he died so feeling a tad melancholy.

So today I went out and indulged in a little retail therapy, a couple of sweaters and some new make up. Well why not. He would have approved.

Been awake since silly o clock so time for a nap and then my exercise regime.:eek: Boring but needs must.

So, my boss( personnel), just asked me for my colbeagues phone no.
She has to let him know . She will send him email anyway .
I was gonna say ,it's been erased but I suppose I have to be professional .
This means unfortunately , he finds out before Monday .
Having said that ,his weekend will be ruined
