C'mon Saints you are having a laugh....£36 to £54 to watch Saints v Bournemouth !

I know it's an old thread, but calling Saints-Cherries a derby is daft. We've loaned and sold players back and forth for years, and Saints fans were chuffed to bits when Bournemouth joined us in the top flight. There's no bite in the two playing each other. The derby game for Saints is Portsmouth, thankfully something pretty rare these days.
I am tickled at how much ManU fans had to fork out to see Midtjylland, though, compared with ours. We saw Saints at Old Trafford a few weeks ago, for £46 a head, and it was entirely not worth it (though we won, and there was a tiny mouse skipping about the pitch). Compared with £24 a head for Newcastle, it really shows how ridiculous it is how much prices vary up and down the country.Mortgage

I remember the pay on the gate days, football was a bit more casual back then!!
Yep....I remember those days as well and they were good.
When I lived for a few months in the South many years ago, I would often go to the Dell and watch Southampton play, when they were in the old 1st division (now called premiership), and paid at the gate before the match. I used a free car park as well for every match. Watched the play some good teams as well; including Liverpool.
The best one though was when I bought a ticket at the Dell one week before the match. Got the ticket and heard a load of cheering in the stadium. Went into the stadium at no cost to find the Saints reserves were playing Liverpool reserves. At that time, Liverpool had a fantastic team (when king Kenny Dalglish was the manager) with Breadsley, Houghton, Barnes, Aldridge, etc. If I remember correctly, Jan Molby was playing for the Liverpool reserves with a few of the other big stars. Good game, which Liverpool won easily.0 -
It's all because some clubs managed to carve out an international following. If you have kids in Cairo supporting Man U for instance, the brand has value, attracting international money. That American chap, for instance, who bought a club with no real affection for football, just wanting to make money at the fans expense.
If it offends you, then support smaller clubs who need the money and support - you'll still see great football, get a pie and pint for a fiver, and your membership actually counts for something.0 -
It's not all bad news.
Sunderland have reduced their prices and are charging £375 in the family zone for an adult and child season ticket package next season. Additional under 16's are £25 and £170 for under 22's.
That's good value for money I think. The only downside is that you have to watch Sunderland :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -

In your OP you were going to be sitting in the home end. Therefore you won't benefit from £30 tickets!
