I went to Playa Blanca this week a year ago and got a decent tan. We stayed at the H10 Lanzarote Princess, and had long walks to the Marina and along the coast to west and the lighthouse for the stunning sunset.

Next time, I want to take the ferry over to Fuertaventura for a day or two.

Thanks guys, well will be looking at Thomas Cook, Monarch and Jet2 for Playa Blanca :)
TCs miserly on cabin bags (both size and weight) and leg-room, Jet2 hold lugagge is 22kg as standard, Monarch have 'add-on packs' which are good value if you need to lug 26kg.

Another shout out for Playa Blanca, you can't really go wrong

PDLC was just a bit too tacky IMO
Matagorda was nice and small and pleasant - it was just the 6am alarm call from the airport that stops me going back
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

    Hi

We usually just book flights with Jet2, but this year when we were at Playa Blanca we booked the hotel and transfers all inclusive with them and everything was great.

When we went last year to our usual place in Matagorda flights only (November). The airport was closed due to really bad weather and we were diverted to Fuertaventura.

The airline transferred us all to a really nice hotel there and we stayed overnight, then we got picked up the next day by coach and taken to the airport to continue our journey.

They couldn't do enough for us.

On saying that we are going back in July next year and the flights are very expensive and we haven't booked them yet.

I wish we had arranged to go either Sept/Oct or Nov as we usually do but will see how it goes.

  • Go to Puerto Del Carmen, Playa Blanca is nice but PDC is better, old town, new town, more to it. Jet2 holidays are excellent

There is a quiet end of Puerto del carmen called los pocillos.
There are some apartments there called floresta apartments that seem well located and get four stars on tripadviser. About £370 for ten days.
