I went mad and bought a Lucky Dip for yesterday's Lottery. Only tend to buy when there's a massive rollover;). No, I didn't win the jackpot but I did get 3 numbers right and won £25:j:j:j. I'd forgotten that they pay £25 instead of £10 for 3 numbers nowadays:o

Adding £23 to my total for this month.

Might have a good 'result' tomorrow as I've booked my car in for a free winter check using a coupon from our local paper. Apparently they top up the antifreeze for FREE and mine definitely needs doing. We haven't any left so it would mean buying some otherwise.

well done on lukcy dip win :T Halfords do a free winter check where they top up your antifreeze and check your windscreen wash, etc. I had them do my car in teh summer :) must go and do the winter check too.

shame you cant get on with smartphones. as the 02 priority app had free antifreeze and screenwash during summer, etc.

I got free deicer other day for DH's car

I know Halfords do it but it's a long way to the nearest branch, not cost-effective as OH usually checks my car for windscreen wash etc and he's got gallons of all sorts in the garage for topping up but sadly no antifreeze at the moment. The ad for the garage I'm using mentioned free de-icer and scraper too:j. Only about 5 miles away too!

Which browser do you use , Aesop? I've always used IE in its various editions since the 1990s, I've just got into the habit I suppose. Can't say it's always been trouble-free though:(. I'm still happily on Win 7

The reason I can't get on with smartphones, (I think I told you before after I first bought it) is that I have arthritis in my hands (a real nuisance as I haven't got it anywhere else). The smartphone I got was so small and fiddly that I swapped it for something with a friend. It was all I could afford at the time but when I've got my finances sorted out a bit I'll get something much bigger and more user-friendly that I can hold without dropping and be able to manage using it fully.

I refuse to use it as well (Very cynical about "intentions" of the data gathering !)- Firefox for me and a backup copy of Opera - just in case Firefox gets corrupted.

I use chrome. Until recently it was effective but like everything they are trying to develop into something more.

I remember about your arthritis, bad choice of words.

Good that your local garage offers all the extras too :j

Here's a curious post for you, while I plug away at surveys and the like. Hubby is waiting for a list of ideas from me (to buy - we have a budget for it) for Christmas and I'm thinking of MSE friendly gifts (not money, vouchers etc). Things to help me stay organised, save in 2016 etc.
    Any ideas?
My first thought was of a poor man's terramundi i.e. a pound saving tin.
    What do you think?

I love that nikki-sue. Will be interesting to see what others think of. Mine is diary, coupon wallet. Daily to do tasks/notebook. That way you can write down daily sites to check ie all the lottery sites.

    :money:
Any ideas I get I'll put together in one post.
I use a Filofax but could do with a budget book / diary of its own to track challenge income (tenner a day obv.), income, outgoings, spending etc so that's a good call - thanks.

    Coupon wallet Aesop?
