local authority and lack of choice

I been unhappy with a local authority as they do not seam to really care what i want that much and i been fighting for over a year trying to get my choice in care and it would be impossible to save up the about £2k to be able to move out of care and that is if i can get the monthly payments as well.

And they are not even going for best value for money providers (in fact this provider is one of the worst value for money to say the least).

And this care homes is useless to day the least as well.

Although it's not clear whether you have a question I'm pretty sure that there's a better board to raise this on than Consumer Rights.

If I remember rightly from previous threads, you have been assessed as needing residential care but you want to live more independently, is that correct?
Have you had a recent assessment, and have you set any goals to work towards to allow you to move forwards towards a more independent lifestyle?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Maybe try the disability board? There's some very knowledgable people on there.

Last thread I saw was that his current care home is moving to 'supported living' where they want to stay, but cannot due to a history of violence towards staff and vandalism of the property.

So it seems less a case of 'lack of choice' but more a case of most places choosing not to have you... Maybe the one that is least value for money is the only one that is willing to take someone with a history of violence towards staff and one that can afford to keep fixing the place up after you destroy it? Danger pay and replacing wallpaper cost money.

The background, unless things have changed since July.

OP, you might want to answer some of the questions you were asked last time with regards to what you've already tried, who is supporting you, assessments you've had etc, in order to get a relevant reply.

They are not allowing me the documents needed to even look for places.
