  • I had the same thought when I bought my 2yr old hers for her birthday. But they really are worth the money.....hers has been well and truly used the last 6 months and it is brilliant, I expect it to last a few years easy!

I had a look around on ebay and Gumtree too and you can easily grab a bargain if you aren't fussed on it being second hand

Hand grips and brakes are cheap and easy to replace in my experience- we've had mini, maxi, sprite and a couple of adult scooters and they are sturdy, hold their value well and are, frankly, great fun.

The Maxi micro might be ok if your 4-year-old is very tall, otherwise go with the mini for now. (The handlebars should be at least 8"/ 20cm below your child's chin to prevent them from bashing themselves in the face.)

Glad this thread has been resurrected. If I had my time again, I would buy these, but try and get them off eBay rather than pay brand new.

My 7 and 5 year olds still use theirs, but the brake has come off the younger one's and Dad has said he can't fix it. I've brought up the link attached to the thread above and can't decide if I need the regular brake or the limited edition. How would I know? Is there a difference?

I'm not sure which were the limited edition scooters as the range has changed since I last looked. I'd go for the regular brake, then you just unscrew the bottom of the scooter, lever the coloured board off and unscrew the brake. It's a bit fiddly but straightforward enough and they have video tutorials on there too.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
