Actually, I believe 50% is a good gesture on their part. Some carriers will not give any discount. I'd suggest you just take it and count your losses.Does anyone have experience with the Ombudsman? Would we stand a better chance with them, or should we cut our losses and accept the £200 gesture?
Advice would be very welcome.
Thanks

Why not contact Daily Mail for example - they have a "troubleshooting" section. Many stories like this, where they intervene on your behalf, quite often getting a favourable result.

I am currently on a two month trip around Spain and have a tariff with O2. I hit the 25GB data cap that is included in my tariff this morning.
O2 text me to say it will now be £3.50 per GB for roaming. My monthly cycle does not restart until the 3rd May.
What is the cheapest way to continue to use data? I am a solo traveller so use my phone a lot to contact friends/family. Will any charges be capped at the £45 monthly limit? If I bought some bolt ons would these work in the EU?
Thanks.matched betting: £879.63

Thanks.£3.50 per GB is quite cheap (if you're sure it's GB not MB !!). Do you really need that much data? Are you using wi-fi where you can eg in hotels, hostels, bars, cafes etc? You could look at getting a local SIM, I think most UK roaming packages have a fair usage policy which limits roaming use, 25GB is quite generous. But 1GB should last ages if you restrict high data usage to when you're on wifi, eg videos, video calling etc.

What's the cheapest roaming deal (UK based but travel to EU, US and Canada) with reasonable data (3GB maybe) and itemised calls ( for expense claims) please? Is there a way to get the finder website to say?Giffgaff look cheap but no itemised bills. It's slow and annoying to check each one by hand, so I'd love to hear what works for people on here. TIA0

Remember, in the UK companies are now giving away data like hot cakes - £3.50 per GB isn't generous nor expensive. I'd say.0 -
The article recommends using a Three PAYG sim temporarily, whilst abroad, as they provide free roaming. Another option is 1pmobile, which also has free roaming and way cheaper rates of 1p per minute/text/MB, compared with 5p per MB on Three (10p per min). So, very cheap for moderate usage. I spent less than £1 in a week in Italy a few weeks ago.
If you need a lot of data, £10 for 10GB, which is the same as Three.
Those rates are Europe. In the US, 2p per GMB.koru0 -
