Possible Scam:- Bought item on Ebay BUT received an envelope of rubbish signed for...

Bought an item (xbox controller) for my son last week, however what arrived on Saturday was a tatty envelope with rubbish in it - Sent recorded (and we've signed for it)
I've chased the seller up for the item and they are claiming that the item has been received and Signed for
How do I progress this on ebay/Paypal? Seller had 100% feedback
I'm at a loss

Why did you sign for it? You should have rejected it and claimed item not received. It clearly wasn't the controller if you only got an envelope.
Open a case for not as described.0 -
We get quite a lot of mail and signed for items for work, so my OH just signed for the envelope. Opened it and it just had folded pieces of rubbish.0

But would the weight of the envelope with paper stuffed in it be a different weight of the controller ?0

This is what you should do.0 -
the weight was very different - Its just that its not unusual for us to receive recorded items (for work) so just automatically signed for it. Was very dubious once opened! Although the address on the label (a self printed recorded label) didn't even tie up with the sellers area - think we've been had!0

Start a Item not as significantly not as described claim and photograph the package and its contents.
E-bay will refund you on the balance of probabilities if you have good feedback.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Maybe worth speaking to the Police, so that have a record if this person is a regular fraudster.0

It'd be a different size and weight. No way a controller would fit in an envelope so if it was sent as a letter rather than parcel it'll be clear they haven't sent the right thing anyway.the weight was very different - Its just that its not unusual for us to receive recorded items (for work) so just automatically signed for it. If it's a different area and the seller has 100% feedback as a seller (buyer feedback doesn't count, buyers can't get negatives) are you 100% sure it is from that seller?0 -
Not as described and send them the pile of rubbish back with something extra..Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
