Why is everyone going on about why did the OP sign for it, that's not helping anyone now, is it?
OP firstly message the seller and give them a chance I put things right. If they don't, open a not as described case, and once you have been refunded, leave the appropriate feedback. I'm0 -

Now why would you advise the OP to do something she's already done? That's not helping anyone now, is it?0 -
People seem to be missing that OP gets a lot of parcels/letters which need signing for, this could have been a letter they where waiting for or a cheque for £100000000 and untill it was opened and the contents found then they wouldnt have known which it was. They didnt know it should have been the controlelr untill it was opened.
and as OP said their partner signed, my OH never knows what ive got turning up at the house so would just sign anyways as he wouldnt know what to expect.

I asked first and asked because if you're expecting a controller and get an envelope and it seems a bit daft to sign for it then be surprised it's not what you thought. As OP explains though she gets a lot of post and so it wasn't noticed.
The reason other people have asked is no doubt for the same or similar reason and they haven't bothered to read the first couple of posts.
It's something that happens constantly on the forums and you've done the same in your post! The OP says they contacted the seller (they mistakenly put buyer but they clearly meant seller) and the first reply clearly states "Open a case for not as described."
Also, why does your post end with I'm?0 -

Yeah, I think a lot of people are waiting for that lol.0 -

Apart from opening a SNAD claim, I would suggest e-mailing the seller and tell them that unless they refund you in full, you will be contacting the police to report their fraudulent actions.
Make sure that you state that you will be giving the police the signed for envelope that was received and the ebay information so they will know that there is no way that the envelope could have contained the purchased goods.
Hopefully this will make them refund quickly but if not, it might still cause a few sleepless nights.0 -
I would also be getting screen grabs of the original auction and any other info on line about the seller. If you do have to go down a legal route with this then grab all the info before it disappears.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. At least you didn't buy an "xbox controller box" in which case the paper inside is just packing and the item is the ,,, um errrm,,,, the box! lolWarning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Least a box could have a use. A tatty envelope is useless.
Plus for most of those that buy boxes they would realise that's all they were buying if they just read the listings properly.
Surprised the seller didn't send a box really. If OP had had no other post they wouldn't have accepted the envelope as it's obvious, but they may have accepted a box.0
