Which Bread Maker?

Hi,
m.`.As a regular lurker and knowing how much some value their breadmakers I thought this would be a good place to ask for advice.
My MiL would like a BM and I thought it would make a nice christmas present, but I would like recomendations first if pos. I don't know anything about them, but do know I only want to spend up to £50. Will this get a decent one?
Sorry to sound so vague, but I thought this was the best place to find BM experts!:jBoo!:rotfl:0 -
Hi nixinix,
There's a recent thread on this so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the replies together.
This thread might help too: Is a breadmaker worth it?

I will second that. I bought one just before christmas from amazon when they are down to £39.99 (think they are back up to around £65 now though) and havent stopped using it since. Great results from it using some of the recipes posted on this forum.0 -
I bought a Cookworks one from Argos 18 months ago, which I used every day.It was £14.99 and I thought it was great .In December, I decided to go for the Panasonic 254 when it was £39.99, because I knew I would use it. The loaves the Panasonic produces are fantastic, and are far better than the cheaper breadmaker.
If you can afford it, go for the Panasonic.0 -
yep another vote for the panasonic, love mine and loaves taste great and so easy to do:D

I bought the Panasonic SD254 at Christmas and it is brilliant, not had a duff loaf from it yet! I perviously had a cheap breadmaker which was fine on the whole, but the results from Panasonic are much more reliable.0

Yep another panasonic fan here - got it before Xmas and it is amazing and virtually foolproof...0

Actually, DONT BUY IT, if you are on a diet.
Unless you can cope with the smell of hot cheese and sundried tomato bread without eating the lot.....:eek:0
