Neither of us can bake to a good enough standard :o

Years ago i tried making this custard tart thing and i dont know what went wrong but it just tasted like egg!

Foolproof bun recipe, makes about 15 buns.

    4 oz self raising flour
    4 ounces of caster sugar
    4 ounces of margarine
    2 eggs

Cream the marg and sugar, add the flour and eggs, bake in bun cases for about 25 minutes.

Most kids will be baffled as to why you're giving them an advent calendar.

Many arriving to the New World were British escaping religious persecution. Not only did they import themselves but small pox as well. Why you find that funny is beyond me.

Who said anything about smallpox? (It's one word, by the way)

If there's nothing offensive, just invent something to get offended about. That seems to be the way it works on this board
  • Personally i'd think it was weird if someone gave my kids an advent calendar for Halloween, not that i let my kids go trick or treating but that's just my opinion.

I was thinking of giving advent calendars to trick or treaters this year :D

I hate to break it to you, but I've already seen one six-ish year-old being led along by her mum while carrying a half-eaten advent calendar (bought to keep her quiet while mum was shopping?)

...so I don't think yours would last longer than five minutes when ripped open and shared among the group.

Truth be told I'm not offended in your belief that the colonist were American citizens.

That's probably true I don't find negative stereotypes funny. Not just American, but with any nationality.
  • Does nobody else think its quite strange how we tell our kids not to accept sweeties from strangers for 364 days of the year, but on Halloween, not only is it acceptable, but actively encouraged?

Of course, there are no nasty people out there on Halloween. I had a little girl knock on my door last year while her chavvy mother stood at the end of my garden smoking a fag. I called the Mother over to ask how she knew me and her reply "Well I dont, but I'm here, so its safe" Oh really? So you are happy to watch that little girl bite into something when you have no idea about the woman who just gave it to her? Strange!

And before I get jumped on for being mean - of course I would never do anything like that - but I also wouldnt take part in it either.
