  • Morning all (just about) :D
No - I wasn't enjoying a much needed lie in. I was freezing my backside off watching ds play football, which was particularly tragic today as only 4 of the 7 turned up. I'm afraid I have had to give in and put the heating on just to take the chill off a bit.
Thanks for the start today Carrie, and Bob I hope you're on the mend.
Hope you're doing ok Yorkshirelass - it's so stressful trying to balance the books when it's tight isn't it? DS desperately needs some new thermals for under his football kit, and they will cost £17 but I can't afford them at all before payday which makes me feel awful :( and even then it will probably have to come out of Christmas gifts for him.
    Today's list
    :) check banking
:) get ds to football training
    :) emergency cat food shop
:) pop to my friend's shop and stock up on meat
:) take kids to gymnastics class
:) try and collect at least one bag of rubbish from around the house
    :) relax time
:) go through Christmas presents bought and see what is still to do
:) inventory cupboards and write a shopping list for the week ahead
:) spend some time reading my book

CCL does ds need to have the teams official thermals or are any okay? If your not restricted I noticed sports direct currently have thermal trousers £4, long sleeved thermal tops £4.25 & shorted sleeved tops £3.50,which would be quiet a saving hth.

    Afternoon all :)
Thanks for the start CLF :)
Welcome back Bagpuss, hope you are ok.

Absolutely vile weather here today :( Just been to my sales unit, and realised that I had taken part sets of china down, which means that I will need to go through umpteen boxes in the garage to find the missing pieces  Still, I had one decent sale yesterday, which is sorely needed this month  I have put out some nice glass items, with original boxes, in the hope that people will buy them with Christmas in mind, so fingers crossed!

    Other than that:
Made a batch of scones to use up some milk that was on the turn
    All HM meals from stores
Groom pup later, not sure if he will want to go for a walk in this weather - and if I make him, I will be besieged by outraged animal lovers (he is 4 and a bit months, and is just 2kg of fluff -going anywhere takes ages at the best of times :rotfl:) He is confined to the kitchen as I don't want him coming into the rest of the house weeing. Apparently outside in the garden is not an option today! OH took him for a walk once the rain had stopped, but thank goodness for puppy pads is all I will say :rotfl:
See to chickens Done - they don't like the rain much either :(
Finalise shopping list and meal plan for next week. I will go to Sainsburys tomorrow as I have a voucher - and hopefully the weather will be better!
DD2 has threatened to come round with baby GD,so will need to clear chaos caused by baby and puppy combo later

Right, off to rummage in some boxes of china in the garage :(Had a quick look and couldn't find what I wanted - so decided to go through all the boxes and label them with details about the contents. Did the few boxes in the loft (took ages, but at least I know what is in there), but will have to do the garage ones (a much bigger job) tomorrow. Also need to move anything that will be damaged by damp over winter to the house

Thanks for this - no, he doesn't need team thermals. But it was Sport Direct I popped into on the way home from footy this morning and they were 2 items for £17 in there. Best get looking online because he goes through his football gear like it's going out of fashion. :D
  • Ooh, I've just found a good website. Apologies if you already know about it and I'm last to the party. :o
It's https://www.sainsburysfoodrescue.co.uk and has loads of ideas for using up food so that we waste less.
  • Good afternoon everyone!!
Thank you for starting us off CLF!!

Still not caught up with the thread (am on last weekend's) thought I might've got a chance but I've actually been quite busy at work which is rare for this time of year so not had a chance. Feeling quite stressed as well so think it will be a nice glass of Pims and maybe a takeaway this evening :o

Thank you for the brown sauce recipe last week Foxgloves will be making that at some point!

Thought I would start off with something funny I did yesterday that I had to share!! I got some YS food for the cats (boxes a bit battered but none missing). As I was pouring the last one into cats food box I poured it into the bin instead!! Luckily was the recycling one and not a lot in there so managed to save it but did have a bit of a giggle to myself!!

    Today's list:
    - B/L/D from stores
    - FPL
    - Lucky Phone
    - Survey(s)
    - SO for Rent
    - SO for NPower debt
    - Start DFW diary
    - Read Martin's email (just realized I haven't yet)
    - Complain to PO
    - Change Clubcard address
    - Complain to Sky
    - Meal plan
    - Blog post
    - Load of washing
    - Have a look at MS assignments

Seems to be a lot of complaining going on here!! :p
    Read my diaryHere :)

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hey All

Chocolate - that is hilarious! Not quite the MS spirit :))

Yorkshire - sorry you are feeling fed up with being on a tight budget. I really sympathise. It's grey and miserable today as well which doesn't help How long till you get paid?

Dawn - congratulations on the good sale :)

Bagpuss - Glad to see you back posting again. How is your family doing after your loss?

Kayannie - thank you :) it's nice to hear all about the food foraging and using up. Courgettes are so useful in so many things.

CCL - sorry for your son's team today. That's a bit crap that his team mates didn't turn out for a match. Half term affect?

Carrie - thanks for the start and we'll done keeping on with the decluttering too. It's an ongoing job I find but once you have the bug you won't turn back :) also if it helps I am having hideous night sweats too so I don't know if you are on the turn or whether it's just getting used to a change in weather :)

Little Miss - lovely to see you on the thread :)

Determined - hope the workshop went well?

Princess - great roadkill finds :) hope it wasn't too sad handing pooch over?

    My own efforts today.
    1. Made stock.
    2. Made pumpkin soup using the innards from the pumpkin the boys carved and leftover veg
    3. Went through the fridge and froze a portion of sausage stew.
    4. Realised a dvd we got for free from the library is now overdue so we have a £3 fine. But OH can take it back tommorow so damage limitation counts as DFW I'd say :)
    5. Read CC bill that had come in today and checked when the payment is due and put a reminder in my diary to pay in time.
    6. Bought more cold and flu. Supermarket own brand at a fraction of the big brand name.
    7. Low cost entertainment for the family in the form of Netflix (lego Chima)& watching the boys play lego Indiana Jones on the x box.
    8. Found 1p
    9. General tidy round to keep the house straight.
    10. Discussed booking xmas leave with OH so we can make our plans for visiting etc. Can't wait!

Well think that's it for now.

    Ziggy - hope your ok??
