mobilephonesdirect.co.uk - dodgy behaviour - not recommended

When trying to buy SIM free iPhone 6 AND Samsung Note 4 devices from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk , my NatWest card was declined due to "address issues". (There are none.) I called mobilephonesdirect.co.uk to complete order by phone, but was told they can't help, and was asked (seriously) if I had £2.50 available on the account. The order was for iPhone 6 and Samsung Note 4, up front. After providing and unusually big chunk of personal details for a straightforward, upfront online purchase, (and bizarrely being told that mobilephonesdirect.co.uk does not accept that I live where I have lived for some time, in suburban London), the site, and subsequently the call centre employee, would not accept the standard UK NatWest debit card, which I use for all my direct debits and daily payments. mobilephonesdirect.co.uk immediately followed up with an email saying that I had been "automatically signed up" for an account with them. Pushy, disingenuous, and in my opinion dodgy behaviour. I just went ahead and bought both devices from Debenhams Plus instead, which was extremely efficient and professional. Debenhams Plus is of course a much safer option, due to its reputation, but you pay a little more.
