New Washing Machine Needed
Comments

We have a LG, well over 12 years old and still working perfectly. No breakdowns or spares needed. So buying a "cheapo" every 2/3 years isn't saving anything.0

Exactly, I pay just over £200 for my washing machines. They usually last around 5 years before I decide to upgrade, not because they've broken. And I sell them on Gumtree for £30-£50. Beko have never let me down yet, whereas Bosch and Hotpoint broke within a year.0

Who would want to pay Miele prices, its still cheaper to buy a "Cheepo" & change every 2-3 yrs.
Really. No thanks.
I'd have to have the hassle of a breakdown every 2-3 years then searching around for the cheapest available model then have to pay for it to be delivered, connected and the old one removed. I can not do this myself. The washing machine is up stairs and it is beyond my ability to carry a machine by myself downstairs. The council charge to collect and only collect from the outside of the property. They do not disconnect and take the old one downstairs and they charge £20 for that service.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

My vote goes to Indesit washing machines. I'm on my third in 20 years. And I go for cold fill only machines as my water heater is of the 'instant' type and by the time the washing machines gets any hot water, it's got all the water it needs."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Guess what I should have said earlier is that following research and recommendation I went for the Samsung selection mentioned above.
If you look ard enough you can find recommendations and critical comments about virtually every brand and model out there.
Pays your money and makes your choice I guess but now delivered and installed by me today and seems okay. Wife happy, wide range of programmes available and far quieter than model it has replaced.
Interesting to note that the Which? highest rated best buy washing machine has critical comments from owners directly beneath the best buy recommenation!! Bit of a lottery I guess and just hoping I have made a good choice of make and model and that my particular machine wasn't put together on a Friday afternoon just before a national holiday wherever it was manufactured.0 -
We went for Siemens and have been very satisfied and two years warranty0

Look at the noise levels in the specifications, although if it's louder than an airplane they're doing something wrong!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

All new white goods have a dB rating on them along with the energy consumption etc.0 -
I bought one of the samsung eco bubble. Worst machine I have ever bought. It rocks and rolls when spinning. The engineer said to screw down a bit of hardwood on top of the tiles and all will be ok. Not screwing anything down on top of my tiles. Samsung customer service useless so unhelpful. I had a cheap one before this and it was perfect. Only lasted a few years. So thought go with samsung . So good luck with your washing machine. Like to hear how your machine is.0
