Holidays & shopping, not two words that go together in my book. Don't forget that "designer outlets" in The States are the same as designer outlets here - most of the stuff is specially made to be sold cheaper & isn't the same as the full price article.

Maybe so, but not all the stuff and the outlets in the USA are AWESOME! Levis for $38, Ralph Lauren polo shirts for $30, Fossil Watches for £50

My Kindle Paperwhite was around £60 iirc when they were £10ish here.

Not much of a bargain there!

We bought a couple of Apple watches last visit. £70 cheaper each including tax.
    I wouldn't be without mine
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Thats a very good point however if you attach a length of hose to the petrol can and fill your car up from the opposite side of the petrol cap then it fools the car into thinking its american and it will accept it, however it will lead to your car getting confused at roundabouts

    Solution,
either go to a pump with long hoses, or drive up to the pump facing away from the shop.

I find at roundabouts, if you take it off "cruise control" , you can use the steering wheel to navigate roundabouts the correct way.

Electric cars can only go at half speed. US 110 volts versus UK 220 volts.

A third cheaper than Amazon UK until VAT (20% or about £5.60) and a handling and collection charge levied by Royal Mail or relevant courier company are added on.
This charge will be £8 with RM and could be a fair bit higher with other companies.
Amazon US claim that "For AmazonGlobal items, you won't be charged additional fees if the actual Import Fees exceed the Import Fees Deposit we estimated." - not certain that covers VAT as well.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

Worth remembering that there's a couple of States that do not have sales tax.
I was on a fishing trip to Montana a couple of years ago and ended up paying less than half the UK price for a couple of new fly rods, can't remember the exact figures but it was something like $500 Vs £650 each
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.

Another thing to remember is that you don't normally pay sales tax on mail order goods if the seller doesn't have a physical presence in the state that the goods were delivered to.
