Thursday 22 Oct - what small DFW things will you do today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending! :money:

  • Morning all
I am definitely not feeling the love today... dd just knocked the laptop off the sofa and it was touch and go for a bit.... :(
Plus I don't want to go to school after yesterday's drama :(
But it should just be a state of mind so if I think more positive then in theory it should be ok.
    :) check banking
:) do my photocopying which is now urgent
:) do not waste a minute of my time at work
:) mark a set of books
    :) leave the heating off
:) leave a list of jobs for dh
:) try and not get stressed :rotfl:
:) plan for the week after half term
:) try and spend some time on my own
Hope everyone has a good day. :D

Morning all, Thanks for the start CCL, hope you are feeling better then you were yesterday.
Sorry didn't catch up on yesterdays posts properly, I had an "blue" day were I didn't seem to have the energy to get anything done. Hoping for a better day today.

Chocolatelover, I use bounts as it links to my fitbit & LF equipment at the gym, when I have taken 7000 steps I earn some points on bounts that ultimately I convert into a gift voucher. Its not a quick way of getting vouchers but for me as I'm doing the walking and gym its nice to have a financial reward! I'm not sure what other apps etc it works with but its worth a look. If its suitable for you, I could give you my referral link and we'd both get 100 points.HTH

    Good Morning Everyone

CCL - Thanks for starting us off, sorry to hear you're having such a rough time

Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.

Feeling absolutely shattered, every bone and muscle in my body aches and feel under so much pressure (school have thrown a last minute meeting for tonight regarding GCSE assessment but only one parent is allowed to attend - so will mean DH has to take me up and then either wait around for 45 mins or go home and come back and we have lots to do today and this evening) so fed up, just want to crawl back to bed but have to now go to meet the manager of mum's sheltered accommodation. Today I will:

Packed lunch for DH & DS
    Washing
    Post Office
    Bump all sale listings/freecycle/facebook
    Check Banks
    Continue purge on Emails
    Surveys
    Enter a few comps
    All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Beef in slow cooker (had planned a full roast but school meeting and post office may mean this is a late tea)
    Read book
Check https://www.freepostcodelottery.com - Remember there are now 5 chances to win
    Check Lucky Phone

    Have a good day!

Determined - Did you hear from your daughter?

    Bob

Well I heard from her but contact didn't go ahead. Right now I'm pretty mad at her. despite being as clear as possible she needed to contact me by 9.30 to confirm if she was coming yesterday she sent me a text at 11.45 to say she wasn't coming. My reply was well I didn't hear from you by 9.30 so mad other arrangements and went out. We're about to head into a rocky patch I can tell...

    Morning all,

Big hugs to all of those having a tough time - ccl, DNMS, ziggy, lego mum and any others

Had a nice evening with my friend although she's very tired as she's yet another one who is pregnant! I didn't spend too much - only £20.

    Today's list:
    • B/L/D from stores (must decide what to make for dinner!)
    • Charge phone in work - done
    • Check online banking and reconcile spreadsheet - done
    • Update spreadsheet with new energy monthly payment - done
    • Post ebay item. Pinched a box and bubble wrap from work. Don't think I'll make any money on the item as am upgrading to 1st class postage as due to weekend events, have posted late. - done
    • Crossfit - actually quite missed it on Tuesday. Will work extra hard to make up for it. - done. They got us to lift weights and I hated it.
    • No booze (am doing really, really well atm. Can recommend the drinkaware app to anyone who is trying to cut down.)
    • Sit down with OH and sort new energy tariff
    • Put washing away
    • Crochet
    • Ring restaurant to book Friday - done
    • Print that damn voucher! - done
    Have a good one all
