My reply was well I didn't hear from you by 9.30 so mad other arrangements and went out. We're about to head into a rocky patch I can tell...

Morning all,
Good start to the money saving today.
*Did my hour in the garden. It was nearer an hour & a half today as job over ran. Sorted out the worm composter ready for overwintering. Removed a bucket of very rich-looking compost. Started off base layer with shredded bank & cc statements for bedding, a bucket of kitchen scraps & topped them with a moisture mat cut from a huge cardboard box that's been lurking in the shed for months. The worms go catatonic in bad frosts, so we always move the composting unit into our unheated greenhouse. They are not as active as the warmer months, but will still keep chomping to give me some more compost ready for spring.
*Picked up another 3lbs of pears. Overwhelmed again & they are all ripe & need using. Think will make more compote later....the problem will be getting it in the freezer, as it's so full at the moment.
*Cleared out a desk drawer & recycled a pile of birthday cards - backs cut into strips for lists, pictures saved for Mum for craft.
*Did a few surveys.
*Received another £5 voucher in payment for my contributions from the online brand community I'm on at the moment. I've done quite well with this. £15 from last couple of months & other projects I've done pending. Will update my signature re 2015's survey earnings.
*Do meal plans for next week. Prioritise stuff from freezer.
*Finalise anniversary meal for next week. We've decided not to go out. mr f is working, so I'm going to cook a special meal. Pretty much decided on main & dessert, just got to decide what to make for starter.
*Write shopping list. Work out how to make the best use of a Waitrose voucher I was given when I popped in for a couple of items earlier this week - £6 off a £30 spend. I think that's defo worth using,
*Turned towel radiator off first thing. Bright day with a bit of a breeze, so opened windows for getting towels dry.
*Money saving contribution from cat - the telltale wing & random internal organ up behind the greenhouse tells me he's been indulging in a bit of naughty hunting. Grrrr! He usually can't be bothered. Far too busy hanging around waiting for the fridge door to open!
Must crack on now. Hope all the walking wounded soon start to feel better & the stressed among us feel calmer as we move towards the weekend.
DNMS - Sorry to hear of the continuing difficulties with your daughter. It must be very difficult to get that balance between supporting her, & feeling angry & frustrated. I hope you're not heading into a more difficult time x

I just made the last payment on my Barclaycard and it feels AMAZING to have all my debt in one place at last (just the TSB credit card to go). Later I am going to the cinema, but I made my OH buy the cinema tickets... that counts, right ;-):j DEBT-FREE AS OF 3/11/15 :T

Afternoon all

Hugs to everyone who is feeling down/ stressed
Congratulations and welcome to Finallygettingfree
Today's list:
So far I have:
Bought potatoes cheaply at the market
Cleaned through downstairs, which was like a bomb site after baby GD's best efforts yesterday!
Received 6 £6 off a £40 shop vouchers from Sainsburys. I shan't use them all, as they have expiry dates, but I will certainly use a couple of them.
A couple of surveys plus today's postal survey tasks
Checked FPL
Cleaned out chicken run
More tidying in the garden
Walked dog
All HM food
Put nice rug back in the lounge as we decided the puppy won't destroy it - he is only allowed in there if supervised anyway. Given the room a new look without spending any money
Still to do:
Make a big pot of bolognese to use up bendy veg from fridge
Cook fish I bought this morning ready to make kedgeree tomorrow
Check banks
Find recipes for sloe gin / vodka, as we have a big plastic pot of sloes in the fridge, that OH and I picked the other day
Right, coffee to finish and then I must make that bolognese!0 -
