What example is he setting his children in terms of aspirations, morals or just being a semi-decent human being?

Actually that's a very worrying point. At the moment there's only one of him (although plenty like him) but in a few years there will be 18 more, and then what if they have 18 each?? - that would be 324, and so on!!

Worse, I don't think he's finished yet, what else does he have to do? How else can he increase his wealth?

I read a pre-review in the metro & they spent most of the time slagging off AW rather than actually seeing if she’d made a good point about him being able to work and choosing not too.

He certainly did! Perhaps because he knows that every word she spoke was the truth and his only "defence" was to attack?

We need massive overhaul in the benefits systems.

I know there are only very few people who claim that amount and it makes me angry after all the forms that have to be filled in to get what my husband deserves after having a stroke.

One way around it is for people to only be allowed benefits for X amount of children. So if you have 4 children you get tax credits and child benefit for them. After that point you are on your own.

I know some people will say it is harsh. But a limit has to be made somewhere.

But that way he would not be get in the region of £30K + a year in benefits.

    Yours

I came to the conclusion that the bloke is a sociopath and however many job trials or interviews he has, he won't last in them. Shame Annie didn't have a couple of bricks in her handbag !

IMO its very wrong that our system allows people to multiply like rabbits and get paid to do so. Very harsh I know, but I think if they put in a system where by after so many kids, say two or three the government doesn't give you anything for them.
It would certainly help stop the trend of single mothers living off benefits reproducing like rabbits to get council houses and more money, and because the kid is under such and such age they don't push them into work.
I have known of people just having kids purely for this reason, so they can stay on benefits.

At the same time I think the stuff on people on sickness benefits needs to be handled with care. Whilst there are people out there who abuse the system, it makes genuine people have a much harder time getting what they are entitled too.
I am on long term sickness, something I am far from proud of. It has a nasty stigma attached to it. The first thing anyone you meet asks you is, what do you do for a living? Its soul destroying when you have to reply, I can't work.
Even my sister uses the fact that I can't work against me. It hurts when you really do have problems that mean you can't work. For me it makes me feel like a useless person.

i agree with the post above - it's very hard to get into a debate about the benefits system without generalisations being made (particularly where certain 'news'papers are concerned!).... the guy on the show was ridiculous, but i don't think he's representative of the majority of the people who claim benefits. but i hope someone somewhere in the system has a look at that individual....... it's people like that that make it difficult for everyone else who doesn't abuse the system!

Perhaps a little consciousness raising? Both for the people taking part and those watching.
