Struggling to sell my car

An easy way to increase buyer confidence is to do a rac or aa check. This can be a good or bad thing for you that is why few dealers do this.
I can see where you are coming from if you wait till next year you will be selling a car that is one year older, or a car that is less new. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche
Please note that at no point during this work was the kettle ever put out of commission and no chavs were harmed during the making of this post.0 -
Don't forget to mention about all the oil changes you have done to the M3, Yaris and/or Lexus.0

Willfully bad idea frankly.
The RAC check is going to cost a significant amount of money and it WILL come up with things that may need addressing in the future which once you show it to a prospective customer they are going to use it as a menu of things to knock the price down - "i see from this report that the car will need two tyres in the next six months, i need £150 off the asking price to cover that". "i see from the report that the exhaust back box is rusty, i need £300 off for a new exhaust", "i see from the report that the brake pipes are slightly pitted and might fail next years MOT, i'm going to need another £300 off to fix that".
There are typically one or more of four reasons a car is not selling- Its priced too high
- The advert is poorly worded
- The pictures are poor
- Its the "wrong" spec of car

As everyone else said - drop the price.
I've only sold a car once and still kick myself for obviously pricing too low. I had calls from about ten different people within two hours of it going on Auto Trader, and it had gone and I had a pile of (asking price) cash within four hours.0 -

I love private sellers. So many emphasise all the bad things, looks really of f putting. I swoop it up, put a decent ad in place and make an instant profit
Bring on the bad ads0 -
If you do not want any engineer to look at it. hint hint....
Why not try something else. If something does not work, perhaps you may not be a perfect sales person.....try something else:
sell it as an auction on eBay, start bid at 10 pence. When you look into an abyss, the abyss also looks into you. Nietzsche

I've had the most success in selling cars by sticking a For Sale sign in the window and sitting it in a prominent position in the garden or driveway. Sold my last three cars within 48 hours and for the price I wanted by doing this.0

Doesn't work so well if you live in a cul-de-sac, off a minor road, off another minor road off a main road, though.0 -

It's called honesty. If you're a car dealer you may not have come across the word.0 -
You know it's a great car, but a buyer won't take your word for that. My car is great and has been faultless for almost 2 years, but it's still a old banger in real life terms.
A car is only worth as much as someone will pay, best to overprice and gradually bring your price down if no interest, than to start too low and have hundreds of calls.0
