They have made up an inflated RRP price but 50p per litre is cheaper than own brand (and 45p if this is picked up on APG is even better).

But why have it at £1.32 when it's in excess of the 2 for £1.00 price? May as well be 99p and any 2 for £1 for all it matters to people getting an even number. It makes no odds what the individual price is in that circumstance (anything from and including 50p upwards). Unless they are hoping that some people will pick up just one - or cannot count and purchase another odd number.

Not sure it can be said to be "inflated", as these were £1.54 individual price before they went onto this offer.

50p for a litre is not always cheaper than every own brand however. Reference my mention of the Everyday Essentials at 49p in Aldi (assuming that msm's price is accurate on that). It could also be argued that more expensive own brands in A were cheaper, regardless of what price they were, if you were buying one (and don't even need to buy anything else) with a womble - and thus could be free:j:money: (if that was the womble's value).

Thank you so much for your very clear instructions & link. I'm presuming you only need the receipt for proof if they don't get added?
I've rather a lot of points at the moment but can never find anything worth using them for. The last time was ages ago for the ice cream that was on double up & compared somewhere for a bm. I can't bring myself to simply use them for a straight exchange as they are such poor value compared to mr t.

Yes keeping the receipt on your desk in a bulldog or money bag with the number of points to be added and if its mycoupons or nectar.com which can take a month - it just gives you piece of mind. The last few things I've bought for mycoupons bonus points have taken 6 days to go on by which time I have either forgotten then or I start worrying if I've bought them at all :D

There are a few things on the mycoupons list which are only £1 or less so these are good to practice with eg Ive got 3 tins of basic peaches which are £1.05 (these are the same price everywhere) and for these I get 40 points - not something I would normally buy but I can do some retro desserts with jelly or add to smoothies
Also some of the branded items I wait until they are on offer eg I've had Vienenetta twice for 40 points but I wait until its on offer for £1 :T

Oi Savvy, give me a break :). £1.54 was also inflated! It is all designed to encourage muggles to buy as they perceive a bigger saving. This is one of the well known brands that has an inflated price and then has offers on regularly.

Just that, on the Princes juices, I don't think it's fair - I know I criticise M (and the other stores) a lot but not on this one - to say of M that the Princes juices are inflated price in M as they have been quite expensive there for a while. It's not as if they've been 80p (or even £1) recently, in M, for example and then it could be said to be "inflated". The only thing I'm saying here is that, if it's a description that they are inflated, a better example than the Princes could be found.

On this one, I don't think it's a 'muggles' offer either as it's a very good one for us. It gets people buying two - I don't see that it is a benefit there as surely it would be better for M to retain more stock than having people take an extra one away and paying them 32p for that. I don't think people pay attention to a saving much here - not like £2.99 and 2 for £3 and clearly people pick up an extra one (may as well do for a penny) when really the individual price has gone up and these were less than £1.50 each before. Here, the offer price on the Princes is good - and I don't think people consider a saving from £1.32, except in the sense that it's obviously better to buy two (although people generally wouldn't have my own mindset here so maybe they would think of a saving I don't know?).

What seems very likely is that there is some tie-up between M and Princes here under which Princes are paying M for promoting the offer and shifting their products. The offer is not a con - the mbuy price is very good, people can easily take it up - and the individual price is irrelevant when people are paying 2 for £1.

well I've had a productive day, written and posted both of the letters I've been planning all week and done the necessary emails and calls :j

also cleared the mounting pile of dross that was starting to take over the desk so its now a vast plane of emptiness :j
    - recycled or filed everything away and the only element of peril I found was a reminder from the dentist
    - so another To Do list commences :D
