Evening Elite :jVery well said- but I think its probably the same with the elite as in RL, you can go for months without seeing someone and then when you do its like you never been apart.
I have been here a year now and I think the same goes here everyone needs time out but when we start taking part again its as if we have never been away. Its hard to get the balance right, and every ones posts is important its what the elite are good at, pulling through hard times together, whether it be savvy shopping or RL problems someone is always around. See you after your coffee break Rosehow ever long that may be x:)
Agreed, I think loads of us drop out for a while, for whatever reason, and then pop back on again. The thread allows for that. People miss posting and the ones on here miss the poster too :AI seldom ask Sorry but appreciate your input I have two ladies in work that i now know to ask how they are One came back today on a phased return, two half days a week Her immediate colleagues gave her flowers and wine She was so touched She also got lots of cuddles and friendly kisses
The other girl said the boss was talking to the wall about her condition last week (no eye contact) Me i just her cry cos i was wanting to help Very difficult to find a balance as i dont rerally know either of them
I do thank those that post about cancer as it helps others to know how to react
Take care
One of the hardest things I agree, is how other people react to the news that someone has cancer. Mr 3Dogs and I were very open about his, and didn't mind talking about it, but most people didn't know how to broach the subject and were afraid to say the wrong thing, so said nothing
Glad that you treatment is going well di and northerngeezer
Happy Birthday bubs, but see you've had a poorly one
I voted earlier Anon, did I see right that C did win? :j
Too late now but I see that the Jaffa Cake Alpen Light did indeed work :rotfl: :rotfl:
I actually got some sleep last night :j Went to go to bed about 1.30 am, let Berry out as normal and then he came by the bed, wagging his tail and whining, so I lifted him up (he can;t get up by himself due to his wonky legs) and pushed him to the other side. He settled and I left the light on to see if that helped. He stayed on the bed for about an hour, which is longer than normal, but then jumped up and got off the bed, wanting garden. Out he went again, then when he came back in, he settled in the bedroom doorway and I left the stash cupboard light on, opposite bedroom door, and after about 15 mins barking and wandering around, he settled and we both slept OK after thatHoping that he settles again tonight

They changed the end date earlier today from the 6th to midnight tonightTalking of heating, am I the only person who still hasn't put their heating on at all this winter?

They have. Shows on checkoutsmart but not clicksnap at all (i suspect it'd be there if you tried to upload though)
The beggars aren't they? There's case law about that, but it's theory. When an offer has been made ("to whole world") and you've already begun your acceptance of that offer but the withdrawal of the offer has yet to be effectively communicated to you. The offer cannot be withdrawn - after you've already done a substantial part of the acceptance. Something like that, I'd have to look it up. However probably relates to retailers themselves and not third parties like CB sites.
Obviously doesn't cover cases of the Morries type - offer introduced on until x date, you arrive at the store on a later date before the original stated date, to find they've pulled the offer early - you can't insist on that offer as you'd need to have bought the product to have gone and done the acceptance. Whether if the original offer was on a store's website though and you could then complain to my favourite Advertising Standards Authority (to no avail:( as no compensation or anything at all) is a moot point. Arguably it means the original advertisement (the appearance of the product and date of original expiry of the offer on the website) turned out to have been misleading as the original advertised date has now been made incorrect. Perhaps Quidco can be sent off to the ASA:rotfl: (if anyone has a snapshot of the website as it looked last night) - obviously promoting a tea cashback offer and saying until 6th November, if that is no longer the case, has arguably turned that advertisement, of last night, into turning out to have been misleading.0 -

oh heck...I've put some washing on and its just started the spin cycle and theres a rather loud tinny sound of something banging against the door....
I just hope its something like a coin rather than a childs phone as has happened in the past.
I refuse to go through my kids pockets and tell them once the washing goes in the washing basket it goes straight in the machine without me rifling through the pockets or emptying them.....I expect them to have removed all incriminating or valuable items first
but this time one of them has definitely not removed all items.
I do this as well. All money in the machine is mine as well by default.

Well that's just not on. The promotion on the website of last night, which said 6th November, has now turned out to be misleading and placed in breach of the Advertising Standards Authority codes. IMO. Did it contain a disclaimer saying the offer could be withdrawn early? If not, well...
EDIT: Actually we still have until midnight tonight, for what we've already bought and so we are able, only now we have checked and found out ourselves, to not buy any pointlessly tomorrow and not lose out on making purchases then that don't attract CB. However, it's still no good to mess us around and it still means they have not kept to their original word which, as you know, infuriates the Asperger's person who always expects people to comply with their word (as he complies with his own word all the time himself and would never do anything like the rest of the world does like this) - but, absolutely typical now, as people generally never do what they say or comply with what they say - they always say something other than what they mean and then do contrary! Obviously, my word "always" isn't meant literally. But it's so... actually it's expected now - I expect people not to follow what they say and I expect everything to have been misleading (and therefore it wasn't to me as I never believed them in the first place). But that is holding a low expectation of the 'rest of the world'!
:doh:When it's in a RL social 'situation', I'm expected to read body language that makes clear (and therefore itself "says") what they were saying in speech was incorrect. However, when all I have is information on a website, obviously there isn't any hidden communication at all.0 -
As long as there are no tissues in pockets eh  I left one in a dressing gown picket in a dark wash omg the mess. I could have cried
