I'll be gutted if they don't let me home tomorrow. Once the c diff was confirmed the drs said it would be early next week, and I had to have 48 hours since last loose stool. That happened Friday. I can shower without help and do my bladder washouts, which I couldn't manage until yesterday. I'm eating again, drinking still a bit of an issue but should be much easier at home where I can access nice cold water instead of Luke warm stuff here. I need to get out of here and carry on my recovery at home.
Mhoc interesting suggestion about the hairdresser, I've thought similar myself about how having one available in hospital would be a good idea (as a paid for service obviously). I wish there was a way of getting your hair washed at your bedside too. Up until yesterday I was having bed washes, and my hair, which I have to wash every day because of greasiness issues was 11 days without a wash. It just makes you feel disgusting.
I'm due a hairdresser appointment anyway, as not been for a cut since mid June, so will see what she suggests.
Rhos, your cakes look fab!
are you allowed in the shower yet and if so is it a walk in shower in the hospital - I am thinking that you might be able to do your hair in the shower but sitting on a shower stool?
if its gets a good cut then it might at least be easier to wash and dry quickly.
I imagine that you have tried dry shampoos ?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I think we like you being a font of all knowledge and when we need to buy something not on our usual everyday lists you are the first person we go to for no nonsense advice on what is really good value and what is only superficially good value :T
Thank you:).
I don't always get it right though. The bowls that appeared at £1:eek: but later went down to 48p. The Plugs at 48p that are now 20p. The Compost that appeared at several pounds price but eventually went down to £1. The Savers pens that I stocked up at at 18p each:(, only for them later to go to 10p. And also this late amendment:Savvybuyer wrote: »[Strike]ASDA Aubergine Loose75p 50p I think these have been slightly cheaper than this in M early in the year.[/Strike] Avs T 39p.
How I could think that 50p was any good price to compare against:eek::eek:.
Also I stumbled across a very old list from probably two years ago, that must have escaped my clear-out, and does anyone remember the Mint Sauce going onto 2 for 30p mbuy in M? So, I'd obviously forgotten about that, and I'm not sure why I've kept this on!Savvybuyer wrote: »ASDA Smartprice Mint Sauce (165g)24p [Strike]24p[/Strike] 25.45714...p
Especially as that's now suggesting that that went up in price in M - good job I kept track of that thing!
I've done it again myself only yesterday:(. I found the Oaklands 2.5Kg potatoes on weekend special in Lidl at below £1, just two days after I bought some "Eday Value" ones from T at £1.18:(:(. I think they should be forced to rename them to "Everyday except days on which Lidl is cheaper Value". Of course, I bought another bag from Lidl - I'm just hoping that M does not play ball now and lower it's much larger sack Unwashed Potatoes to £2 as that would have meant I'd have to get another "Eday" one at 'best at the time' at £1.18, so now I've stopped that next time and have saved - as long as M doesn't lower its price.
The trouble with all this moneysaving lark is that I now always become aware (too late!) of when I've paid too much. I used to be a muggle and used to pick up, week after week, the milk that was actually more expensive priced, automatically and without thinking. I think the 6 pint was 2 for £3.50 (shows how long ago!) and we needed 12 pints for a week, so always used to pick up that... when the 4 pint was 3 for £3 (so, same amount of milk - 2x6 or 3x4) and we should have picked up 3 of those. So we were overpaying for years without thinking:(.
Now, it's the complete opposite and any minor increase in price or loss of a few pence I notice it. I found 500g Parsnips and 1Kg carrots at 39p in Lidl and picked a pack of the carrots up - forgetting that the M Savers were 35p in M:(.
As for the potatoes, the T Eday this week, for me, were Maris Piper and so were the Oakland's. And guess what? They look absolutely identical to me. I can't tell any difference between the quality of the potatoes inside each bag - they look the same to me (and could even have been made at the same price). So, take it from me - if there was any minor difference in the way in which they look, I would be the very first person to see it, I think, as "I tend to notice things that other people do not" (one of the questions of those Asperger's tests).
Also, those T standard-range Malted Wheats I ended up with - they look identical to Shreddies to me. So there is no need ever to buy expensive Shreddies (unless there is a glitch and they are then not expensive). That was a mistake too, as there are ones in Aldi that are cheaper than the former price of A that I was matching T to. So, I should have bought there.
So, I do make mistakes but it's a learning process and I change things as I become aware of them. I would have saved myself so much issue over the mbuys appearing and disappearing in my M stores over the Cling Film - 2 for £2 - if I had simply known about Aldi's identical size version at 99p all along:rotfl:. And have I had the Power Force version at 89p on as an alternative to Domestos when there is some thick bleach in B&M at 39p? (Maybe 1L - but, even so, it's still cheaper than 89p for 2L from Aldi.)0 -

And to think that none of those prices at M even represent good value on those prices on that womble so, if that person had even checked that receipt and seen that they'd paid too much and got a refund (+10%) for it, and been very happy with that, they'd still have paid way too much in my view! Very well done on that womble though - remember it's not quantity but quality. Indeed, with the APG system, the fewer successes you have but the greater the amount you get when you do get one, maybe the better. Let's face it... you're unlikely to get several that are over £10 each and therefore 10 of those exceeding £100 are you?:rotfl: And that womble... prices for M so bad, that all you could find was a difference of just 49p on one of them:D:rotfl::rotfl:. Of all the things they could have bought... you know, no Alpens, Kellogg's Krispie Squares or anything?
An example of an expensive M price there - although they couldn't have bought the cheaper version in A - is the 350g Quorn Chicken Pieces at £2.71 when the 500g version are £1.47 in M. So that justifies my view (stated above) that the M prices they've compared to are quite expensive. [EDIT: Oh. The 500g version are frozen whereas they bought the 'fresh' one. But why the need to buy the 'fresh'?]0
