I'm so totally on your side with this one Snap...I first saw the food thing maybe 20 years ago when my gran was in hospital...and even back then there wasnt the resources to help someone put a few mouthfuls of food into their mouth....we ended up as a family each taking turns at visiting during mealtimes and whilst it helped us feel that Gran was getting food it was also very upsetting to be in the position we were watching her really struggle to eat, maintain her dignity and allow what were essebtially hewr grandchildren to feed her.

From the perspective of the nursing staff over the years as we have encountered the situation again with others in the family we have always been told nurses are there to nurse, not to feed...understandable to a point but it does get hard to differentiate between someone who needs medical help and those that dont require specialist medical help but help all the same in order to eat to survive!

Our hospitals do a wonderful job, sometimes in very political circumstances but again I fail to see why some wont even allow relatives access to the patients over mealtimes in order to actually help feed....I had this happen to me when I went once to feed my mothers husband when he was recovering from a stroke, only to be told I wasnt allowed to be there whilst the meals were out because I may eat it on his behalf!!!!
    as if....

I shall climb down now...I hope I've not offended anyone in the medical profession with my words but sometimes its clear that the medical equivalent of elf and safety reigns supreme.

So I signed the wife up to ebay a couple of weeks ago to get 250 nectar points...... ebay have just sent her £5 off £10 to welcome her as a new user :money: :j

She hasn't made any purchases yet so I don't know if this is standard practice on new accounts that don't make any bids

This happens where my mam works. Its meant to be one patient per aux but my mam had 13 to look after the other night. She hasn't got time to do all the ops (sp?) etc and turn them, change the beds because they will only buy thin pads so the poor patients wet the bed 3+ times a night

It seems a national problem, too many chiefs & not enough Indians. My dd works nights as a hospital carer mostly on geriatric wards & the stories are horrendous. Sometimes she's the only carer for 28 patients. They're always short staffed. If she works a weekend night shift as a bank carer she gets superb payment. I can never understand why they don't employ more permanent staff as this must be more cost effective than bringing in bank staff on highly inflated wages!! I've got a real 'thing' about this. Get rid of all the managers & bring back matron!

This was from a CC early this morning (around 9 am). The Princes juice and Rocky bars should have compared - but its probably a good job they didn't given the size of my apg and the fact that the toothbrush was out of stock and the substitute was a completly diferent unsuitable one so I should get a refund for that.

They're are running the permanent staff into the ground and are surprised when they leave and go on the bank for more money, less responsibility and less work when there.

If these items were picked up on the Monday instore price collection then it might not filter through to the APG until the Wednesday lunchtime update

Your results might have been different on a later c+c .....but then again they might not :rotfl:

Good afternoon everyone. Just popping on to say T's have kindly extended their offer on the BT bubbly (should have finished yesterday) and it's still showing as 8.25 on A's website so if its rtc in your store, like very luckily it has been in mine, a CC means free wine.

Please can i ask when apg's limits run from? 1st-end of month? I read the t&c's . Per calender month?
I don't understand how people have more than one account to claim over the monthly £100 apg limit when it says 'per household' as surely you've got to use the same address for HD or/and the same card to pay?

Hope everyone has a nice afternoon.

Its probably safer to assume a rolling month ie new month starts from a month after the date of your first CC?apg the previous month. E.G my first one in October was 5th so I think/hope my new month will start on 5 November (if its doesn't I am up shattocks creek).

  • Just opening a Noddle account. Is it supposed to ask for card details??

Yes, it is for ID purposes. I know I had to.
