From 7 years working in ENT, cholesteatoma is a benign growth in the ear. I emphasise the word BENIGN :D left untreated, it can and will cause permanent deafness, frequent discharge and various inner ear conditions ; namely vertigo. Once treated, the hearing won't be the same again but it will stop it deteriorating any further. Some cholesteatomas can be tricky to remove in their entirety, depending on the growth and spread of them. Risks of surgery include facial nerve damage, but again, that depends of the severity of the growth. Surgery time approx 3-4 hours.

After surgery, to start with he will need regular appointments for cleaning wax and debris out of his ear. As time goes on, those appointments will become less frequent. He should also have regular CT scans too to check for recurrence

I used to work for the specialist cholesteatoma surgeon in the south west so I picked up a grain of knowledge or two.

Feel free to PM me here or on Facebook :)

Thanks for this I messaged you back on FB just now. I am worried for him but having had 4 eye ops in 2003 myself for detached retina I know how frightening things can be but it all goes well in the end.

I have limited experience of sada, but OH is near one tonight.
If he gets these exact products, could someone please tell me roughly how much he would pay at the till please? And would he need fillers? TIA
Pay £12, return £8.16 if my maths are correct.

Make sure that if any flavours are out of stock your OH remembers he needs at least 8 items (if in doubt, get 10p sweets for Halloween!).

    This seems fairly cheap:

    ASDA Smartprice Christmas Pudding (454g)

    Store_2.15px.png
    98p 21.6p / 100g
    Store_1.15px.png
    £1.00

    Not 10% cheaper than T:rotfl:.
You get more in this than those packs of fresh puddings at £1. (For example, T Syrup Sponge Puddings 2x130g currently at £1 - they are 260g total not 454g.)

    As if. Morries vs Sains:rotfl:.

    Morrisons Pizza Base Mix (145g)

    Store_8.15px.png
    63p 43.4p / 100g
    Store_3.15px.png
    50p

With 15p of "More" points. But...what else is Mvs S? You know, that might be a challenge and I might have a look at that:D:rotfl:.

EDIT: Part of the challenge is that, of course, with me, it has to be absolute best vs the chosen competitor - so no Savers Corn Flakes 26p vs S 25p, as you could get them for 2.5p off with Avs S:(:rotfl: (could be quite a challenge). (You'd have to have £15 anyway, so 1p difference is not going to be of much help.)

Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
