Re scepticism about the post
I think all we can do is assume the op is genuine and offer information about sources of support. Then if the op is not genuine there is no harm done. This info might even be useful to others in a crisis.

After all, “it’s only a small amount”. It’s the oldest trick in the book and I’ve seen it happen on numerous forums over the years. Just think about the number of members who use this site and will read this thread, even if only 5 people sent a tenner, that’s £50 for doing nothing and those members will never openly admit to sending money or asking for it back and usually the OP never returns again.
Also, how have they been surviving since not working? And the most obvious one of asking friends/family.
They’ve also been online today this morning, why no response to the questions asked in this thread?
Nail on head Candy Apple. The OP never came back.
I sincerely hope that nobody sent money to the OP.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -

I'm struggling to see how the Op not coming back proves they weren't genuine?0 -
In answer to your actual question the answer is no. I am not aware of any commercially available £15 or £20 loans.
The reason people are doubting you is because you make your situation sound so dire that you almost invite disbelief.
You may well be an individual with genuine financial difficulties but I can't see how borrowing £15-£20 for a few weeks will actually help your situation.
Without any clear understanding of how you came to be unemployed and friendless in the first place or of how you allowed your situation to reach this dire point where you appear to have no possessions except an old worthless computer, no access to an overdraft or credit card, in fact no money whatsoever, it is impossible to offer you sound advice.
You will need to go back to whoever you have been talking to about your benefits claim and explain your situation to them. There are systems in place, such as crisis loans etc to help those in situations such as yourself.0 -
I know this is late but i thought i'd throw in my opinion. I understand were you are coming from, although it's a rare circumstance there have been times when I have had no money for food or bills but we recently moved and had no one I could ask and ended up selling stuff on ebay and selling my phone to get by. At that time i didn't know about food banks or other help.
1) Usually your local council can offer crisis loans, although I think they actually just might be grants these days. Although most of the time you are only allowed 2 per year. So it would be really worth getting in touch with your local council office and they can discuss this. It may also be worth adding your internet bill to this as it can be seen as essential because if you are on JSA and cannot job search everyday you could be sanctioned.
2) I know you say there is no food bank local to you but often some churches will give food packs to people in need.
3) To try and avoid your benefits being delayed further, make sure you submit any evidence they need asap and try and push for an advance payment, i know this is possible with ESA, JSA but not sure about others.
4) Make sure you are getting all benefits you are entitled to such as Housing benefit if you are renting.
5) Once you are receiving benefits, try and work out a budget so you can try to avoid being in this situation again.
Hopefully you've got this sorted by now though.0
