from what I,m reading the laws were changed from 250cc to 125cc , and at some point a CBT test was added?
as posted above , if a person obtained there entitlement before this cut off date , could the DVLA simply revoke it , whilst the licence was active?0 -
How did that work with the CBT not being introduced until 1990?
When they dropped it to 125 from 250, you could either pass your test before the cut off date or swap your 250 for a 125 if you wanted to carry on riding.
When the CBT was introduced, you had similar options if you wanted to carry on riding your 125, pass your test before the date or do a CBTChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

They didn't revoke anything, he retained his provisional entitlements. They simply amended the conditions of a provisional licence.0 -

Really? It was over 33 years ago and hasn't been a problem since.
It's like a lot of things motoring, thems the rules if you don't like, em don't drive. I don't think they did it when they introduced the breath test or national speed limit.0 -
so if they announced tomorrow that anyone driving in a red t shirt was unlicensed , you would have to accept that?0

There was also the introduction of the two part test - sometime shortly before the 125 regs - that meant if you didn't pass a test within 2 years of getting a provisional licence, you were given a 1 year ban from riding motorcycles.
I think that was the gist of it, it was a while ago

Yeah, as unlikely as it is.
They drew up rules to save fuel by banning vehicles from the road every other day - based on whether it had an odd or even number on it, regardless of whether you'd paid for a years tax or not.
I don't believe they planned any VED refundsChange is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0 -

Poor arguement there as there would be uproar tomorrow. Your "friend" has waited 33 years, he appeared to have accepted it in 1982.0
